He’s a great recruiter, I’d have to imagine this isn’t good news for ODU.

Good move for them. I think he will do about the best you can for that spot. in terms of being bad news for us......not sure they are going to be after many of the same kids we are.

Think it's a good hire. But bad news for ODU? This will have almost no impact on us. By the way, his Wiki says W&M is in Newport News. LoL. I'm sure Tribe alums will be happy to read that.

Worse news for the folks in Harrisonburg and Richmond if you ask me.

This. If we are competing with London for recruits, we have bigger problems than Mike London coaching at W&M.

He won't be a threat to ODU recruiting. If he is any threat it would be for our preferred walkons.

He might pull an upset or two on the recruiting trail against ODU and other lower FBS programs, but I'll pile on and say that he's not a serious threat to the overwhelming majority of ODU targets, unless W&M somehow plans to jump to FBS.

This is really more in-line with what I meant. He’ll compete with us on the margins but that could have real impact. BL was a local preferred walkon type who I’d think London might be able to sway. If I remember correctly he’s wired in the 757 and was out recruiting VT for a while. Anyway it seems the consensus thinking is that it’s not a big deal so maybe I was overthinking it.

I'm sure he could sell area FBS recruits the idea of coming back home if plan A doesn't work out after a year or two away. No disrespect to NSU or Hampton but W&M on a resume speaks for itself. Blake LaRussa had his heart set on ODU early on to the point he left public school to enroll and gain an extra year of eligibility at the private school. Currently, I think BL is the oldest player on the roster at 23 years old.

W&M first game next year is UVA. That should be fun...
