A quick look at their message board.....appears they are already concerned about the trip to Maine.

Should we bother to tell them that East Tennessee isn't in Maine?

Go easy on them. They've likely spent their whole lives explaining that they are not a school in Florida. That has to wear on you.

JSU seems to buck the trend that successful football helps increase enrollment as they’ve had around a 1,000 decrease in enrollment within the decade. If there’s any correlation between academics, schools & colleges, number of undergraduate and graduate degrees offered, and football programs anymore, ETSU is head and shoulders above a number of other schools with which we compete. In other words, it sometimes seems to me that our athletics (perhaps with the exception of basketball) trails our academics some. Of course, it’s obviously about money. JSU must pump a significant amount of money, proportional to academics, into football given their success and that nice 24,000 seat stadium.

A trip to Maine, why not? — GO BUCS!

Just watched a little of their marathon game against KSU yesterday. They look extremely athletic across the board. Bigger, faster and stronger than anything we faced in the SoCon by far. It will take a huge effort to win. Hopefully the cocks will be deflated from the emotional loss yesterday.

RE: Official Gamed Thread: #8 Jacksonville State
Jacksonville St has only failed to score 40 points in 4 of their games, with one of those being LSU which I don't count. Our defense couldn't handle Samford offense for more than three quarters, so I am concerned how long they can hold this team. We will need flags galore and some crucial turnovers to bail out the D later in the game.

Jville State did give up 20 and 32 points to 0-4 Tennessee Tech and 2-3 Austin Peay respectively, so our offense should be able to get into the endzone enough to keep us in the game.

I'm skeptical of their tight loss Kennesaw State, who I respect but don't think they're #2 caliber. SOCON went 4-1 against the Big South this year, with the loss being Kennesaw over a struggling 1-4 Samford. Big South was altogether 19-15 in OOC play.

Big South only had 2 teams with winning records.

A betting man could've made a good deal of money on the Bucs this year. And probably could Saturday as well.

1) GO BUCS! Beat the Cocks!!

2) I suppose the Cocks could be faster & stronger, but they are not bigger than ETSU...or most any other SoCon Team...see below - not as easy to read as in a table... but hopefully it still is somewhat comprehend-able. Experience “Rating” is based on Class Year. ETSU is one of the more exp’d Teams in the SoCon. I was surprised to see JaxSt is even more experienced.

We didn't play LSU this year. 3 of those wins were over Gardner Webb who is 3 - 8.

I assure you that the team is not overlooking the game Saturday. If you know anything about our playoff history since 2013, you know that we've looked ahead before and it cost us.

How many will make the trip? I'm looking for a good, tough football game. Beware that this is being played on Iron Bowl weekend so attendance will be down.

I live in Oxford about 20 miles from JSU. I got my tickets on Monday. Hope to see a good Bucs crowd here. If anybody needs any recommendations let me know.
Closest hotels are in Oxford near I-20.
