MyBB UNT Signs One of Nation's Top Point Guards
Jackson, who is 5-10, is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports. The site listed him as No. 19 on its list of the top point guards in the country and No. 17 on its rundown of the top players in the state in the Class of 2019.

https://www.dentonrc.com/sports/unt-offi...fe0ba.html

Jackson chose North Texas over offers from other programs including fellow C-USA programs MTSU and his hometown program UTSA.

CUSA has several very good mbb coaches -- D'Antoni and Henson come immediately to mind. I.m.h.o., McCasland is the best.

UNT needs to fully and openly clean up whatever program-related fallout may come from the former-player behavior and do whatever possible to keep McCasland and your mbb program on the rise. Congratulations on this latest impressive signing.

Pay no attention to the man or woman behind the curtain. Remember Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish said Dan D'Antoni would fall on his face. They said that CUSA Coaches were texting him being "Downright Giddy" that NBA Scouts telling them "It will be disastrous".

D'Antoni and Marshall are no threat, just keep saying that.

RE: UNT Signs One of Nation's Top Point Guards
Didn't want to start a new thread , figured it would fit here with UNT's pick up

Nick Ongenda a 4 star 6'10 center from the class of 2020 will reclassify into 2019....signed a LOI with Western

https://www.bgdailynews.com/sports/wku/h...ff590.html

Quote:“Nick brings great potential with his ability to run and block shots,” Stansbury said in a news release. “His defense is ahead of his offense, but no question he has a tremendous upside as he continues to get stronger.

"He’s one of those players that it’s not what he is now, but what he can become that excites you. We’re happy to have him as part of our program.”

The South Africa native Ongenda is averaging 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game this season for Southwest Christian Academy.

The center with a 7-4 wingspan was ranked a four-star prospect, the No. 106 overall player in the 2020 class and the 14th-best center by 247Sports.

ESPN ranked him as a four-star recruit and No. 59 overall for the 2020 class.

I have no idea why this nonsense keeps being posted. The incident was handled correctly by NT and turned over to the proper authorities.

If an employee of Safeway commits a crime, is it automatically assumed that Safeway is some how responsible.

All this speculation is do to some reporter trying to get some clicks on a radio website by commenting on a case as the legal process continues.

I don't if I'm ready to crown McCasland the best just yet, but I agree he is an outstanding coach, and I want to keep him as long as possible.

Our AD, Baker, was on Eddie Sutton's staff at OSU, so he is a basketball guy, and I'm sure he will do everything he can to make sure McCasland thinks long and hard before jumping to a bigger opportunity. Buying out his Arkansas State contract and renegotiating a larger contract after his first season, indicates to me that our administration is serious about keeping him happy and building a basketball program that will compete for conference titles and NCAA bids. I think C-USA will be a better basketball conference this season. WKU, Marshall, ODU, North Texas, Southern Miss, LA Tech, and UTSA, should all be battling to land in that first pod.

Ha! No, that was mistake on my part. I certainly expect WKU in the first pod. Fixed it.

Not only is Baker a basketball guy but Jared Mosley, second in command of our AD office, is also a basketball guy. That why I had very high confidence when they hired McCasland.
