Racial remarks at girls hoops game precede parents’ brawl
Quote:SANTA FE — Racial remarks from one side and the other side calling little girls “fat b’s” appear to have started a brawl between several women after an elementary school basketball game in Santa Fe Wednesday evening, according to a police report.
A Santa Fe County deputy was dispatched to Santo Niño Regional Catholic School after hearing that at least seven adults were involved in a fight after a girls Santa Fe Independent Youth Basketball Program tournament game between Acequia Madre Elementary and Turquoise Trail Charter Elementary.
The deputy found that a mother and daughter supporting Acequia Madre were the instigators.
Witnesses said the pair called other women, apparently Turquoise Trail fans, “Mexicans” and made comments like, “You can’t put Mexicans and Americans together. This is what happens,” the report says.
That led to a fight that eventually spilled onto the gym floor.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Juan Rios redacted names from the deputy’s report since no charges were filed. The basketball league’s commissioner, Emily J. Prevatt, told the deputy that both teams were disqualified from future games. Prevatt did not immediately return a Journal voice mail seeking comment.
The first woman the deputy spoke with had a small scrape on the left side of her chin that was still bleeding, dried blood on her hand and “two different colors of hair on her jacket,” the report states.
When asked to describe the women she and her daughter got into a fight with, she said they were “tall and chubby with painted on eyebrows.”
Later that night the deputy spoke with this woman’s daughter on the phone. She said some women sitting behind them were calling a member of the Acequia Madre team a “fat b” and were yelling at their kids to push Acequia Madre players. She said she got upset and started calling the women behind her “Mexicans.”
After the game, this woman said, one of the other women walked up behind her, grabbed her hair, pulled down her head and started punching her in the head. She said she began to fight back and noticed one of the other women was on top of her mother.
A game referee told the deputy he heard one of the Acequia Madre supporters telling one of the other women, “(Expletive) you, I’ll meet you outside *****” and that her and her mother’s comments started the fight. He said during the fight both sides were punching and kicking each other.

LOL because my grandson's team won the T-ball championship and some parents from the losing side were getting kind of riled up claiming that the refs stole the game. The person in charge of the league had to get a member of the other teams rooting section away from everybody and tell him off. The guy did settle down. After the game all of them were supposed to hold a celebratory meal and I told my son, "don't get into any fights". They didn't, everyone settled down. Those games can get pretty competitive.

If a youth game means that much to you as an adult, you have a micropenis

It’s worth pointing out that the use of a racial slur does not excuse breaking the law.

I agree but when you use one, you are asking for a reaction

And the reaction can result in jail time
