Exclamation Big Apple + Oranges
[Image: SUx.gif][Image: FightingIrish2.png]

I've come across at least 2 analysts who point out reasons why Syracuse might be able to pull the upset in the Bronx:
1) special teams - Notre Dame's are decent, but Syracuse's are outstanding
2) turnovers - Cuse is +13 on the year and hasn't been negative in a single game this year; ND is -3 in their last 4 games.

Go citrus fruit!

RE: Big Apple + Oranges
Special teams and an opportunistic defense has been our bread and butter all year. The dline is outstanding and has really helped in the turnover department as well as having some good young DBs that find the ball. We are also number 1 in starting field position on offense and number 7 on defense. Our kicker and punter are gonna be all-conference/america when this season is all said and done.

Agreed...but I doubt it would've change the final outcome...maybe we lose by 14-17 pts. The missed fumble on Book and the ridiculous PI call chapped my ass though. I was sitting in 132 and saw both clearly.

also the td drop by johnson on the first devito play in.i didnt see the pi call, but the fumble was clear as day live dont know how it wasn't replayed. The way notre dame was defending us it was going to be dungey and moe and strickland running a lot and occasional deep ball connect to stay in the game. The defense hung in despite the bad field position

Do either of you think the referees were "protecting" Notre Dame's undefeated record?
