They lose 61-56 to new D1 member North Alabama

yikes!

North Alabama’s 1st win! (1-13)

FGCU falls to 3-12. A case could be made they’re the most disappointing team in the country.

Meanwhile East Carolina is after Saturday upsetting Cincy playing at Memphis, and late 1st half up 40-28. ECU looking for win #9 tonight- which would put them within 1 of all last year already.

Not an upset by NET, but just a shocking score in SoCon with Wofford thumping UNCG in Greensboro 72-43.

This year’s SoCon could be last year’s CUSA. Good metrics, flimsy resumes. Four teams in the NET top 70.

St Joseph's continues their plunge by losing to Duquesne. 0-4 now in conference and games with Davidson and Saint Louis this week....

Louisville 83
#12 UNC 62

This is the worst home loss for the Tar Heels under Roy Williams.

Duquesne 11-5 with losses to Notre Dame, Pitt, Penn St, NJIT (good team this year), & Davidson. Dukes finally found their man in Dambrot.

Amazing how Martelli can get a 1-seed and Elite 8 then sorta drop off a cliff the rest of his career.

DePaul upsets #24 St John's 79-71. Ponds didn't play for St John's- but for a team that really needed 10 wins in conference play- to be now only 2-3 is not great.

They’re happy enough to have at least a NIT team or better once every four or five years. But now it’s been awhile since the last one of those type of teams.

They won’t fire him, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he retires this or next season.

Oddly, it wouldn’t surprise me if Fran takes over for a bit to promote the gig.

Gonzaga/USF a hard fought game broken open late. Gonzaga throws an alley oop up 10 with 7 seconds left and the players bumping chests and laughing. Pretty unlikable bunch.

I find that tacky regardless of the score or situation. Win with class, lose with class.

How far they’ve come. Makes one wish they did leave the conference if they have to big league like that.

During the Villanova game today, the network flashed a screen with bid and seedings projections. Five seem in, with Marquette pegged the highest as a 4 (Nova's next as a 6, and the rest in the "stew" or in the 11 spot).

Butler was that last one, at an eleven. Well, didn't they go and lose today to that Xavier we all think is one of the basement teams this year.

I didn't want to watch the Eagles, and CBS had the Michigan State-Penn State game on. I really don't know how Virginia Tech lost to Penn State. I know the Big Ten is good this year...but I don't think Penn State in another conference is doing any better. Chambers officially surpassed DeChellis' dubious mark of the worst record against Big Ten opponents. Some think the suspension will allow some flexibility to can him at season's end.

yeah Butler is in deep trouble. 7 losses already with 14 games to go. Have to go probably 8-6 to have a real shot at making the tourney. It's a very balanced league- no real great teams, but no bad teams either. So tough to go on a 3-4 game winning streak, and therefore really tough to make up losses.

Tyus Battle was phenomenal dumping 32 points in Cameron Indoor Stadium as the Orangemen upset the Blue Devils.

The shot of the year so far...when I saw him release it...I thought it had a chance.

Duke would have won by 3 if Hughes did not make the 80-footer.

The shot is almost like a Pick 6 or kickoff return...it really changes momentum.

if Syracuse barely makes tourney, that shot will be the reason why.

Steven you know better...Cuse is destined to barely make the tournament. That is what we we have done since probation...oh and also advance further than the haters can stand.

Beating a team that could be one of the top overall 1-seeds is going to make Syracuse the tallest of the bubble "midgets" if they find themselves there.

What makes them a problem is that they could be one of those gatekeeper teams that confounds the committee, because other bubble teams having beaten them positions them awkwardly.

Last year, this seemed to be the case for Syracuse, and I think it's why you had St. Bonaventure getting a bid. If you can't overlook 'Cuse, you probably shouldn't a similar team who bested them.

This year, it was looking like Temple, VCU, and Texas among those who could make things hard.
