ouch- from Fran Fraschilla
With no Chaminade in this year’s @MauiInv, Xavier or Illinois is returning to the mainland on Thanksgiving Day with three losses. It’s like finding out your mom burned the turkey.

So far they've lost to two very good teams in Wisconsin and Auburn. Don't see them losing to SDSU or Cincy. They could certainly lose one more in the Maui Inv. but again thats not the end of the world. Besides who in the Big East is clearly better than them. Marquette? Butler? That conference is wide open. My money's on X being in the NCAAT.

what I see for Big East is a ton of parity where you're going to have a lot of 9-10 win teams.

Why do you keep constantly posting about the Big East?

You realize that their are lots and lots of other conferences out their playing college hoops, right? How about two weeks where you don't post the words "Big East" at all, and focus say on the PAC 12, the SEC, and the A10? 07-coffee3

The thing has been the Big East has had a lot of the upsets. They could potentially have as many losses in OOC play this year by the end of the weekend(if not month) that they had all of last year. The A10 is actually doing better than they did last year. Pac 12 as well.....

The Big East and the SEC are the 2 conferences big picture that are doing much worse in OOC play than they did last year.... And the thing is- in the SEC- only Texas A&M is really doing badly. And with 14 teams- only 5 teams will see them a 2nd time- so for a lot of the teams- it's meaningless. A Bad OOC for Big East is a killer because of the double round robin- 1 OOC loss shows up as 2 losses for everyone's SOS.

And before you say it's too early..... Big East has played 42 games so far. Big East played 124 games in OOC play all of last year. So we're over 1/3 of the way thru the OOC play. By the end of the weekend, we're a lot closer to half way thru OOC play.

St Bonaventure getting killed by Akron today 46-29.

would cap off a 0-3 trip to the Cayman Islands and put them at 1-5. They're in deep trouble.

Pitt beats Saint Louis....

one of the more interesting games next week will be Pitt @ Iowa. Just how for real is Pitt?

A10 with 2 more tough games tonight. they could start getting on the negative side vs last year- which wasn't great. And if Dayton loses to Butler tonight- the league would have no undefeated teams left.

I'll say a conference that is way down is the MWC.... Colorado St, Boise St, and San Diego St all losing today. With Wyoming having to play Richmond and Utah St playing Arizona St. If the 3 current games all are losses- MWC would be only 24-21 entering tonight's games...

Going to kill Nevada trying to get any help when conference play starts up.....

Utah State, even if they lose to ASU, still has more opportunities to impress - BYU, UNI and Houston coming up.

ASU has a big win over a currently ranked Mississippi St, so they are no slouch.

the problem is going to be though with the rest of the conference- they have no real shots to impress after the Houston game on Dec 20. 9 of their conference games right now are sub .500.

RE: Laughable Scores - 2018/19 Men's Basketball - pt 2
As a Big Five fan, Big East fans need to grow thicker skins. The good non-conference wins aren’t as bountiful. The parity in the Big Five might be better this year than some previous ones with Villanova figuring it out, but if the expected conference champ contender is kinda down, what does it say for the rest of the Big East?

A conference, any conference, that expects to send a lot of teams has at least one juggernaut and a robust middle. You can begin to see this in the ACC, Big Ten, and Big XII...the Big East not so much.

They’re not as bad as others, but I don’t think the rest of the field benefits from that...just means more seeds for those other power conferences.
