You realize that their are lots and lots of other conferences out their playing college hoops, right? How about two weeks where you don't post the words "Big East" at all, and focus say on the PAC 12, the SEC, and the A10? 07-coffee3

The thing has been the Big East has had a lot of the upsets.

Still talking about the Big East ... 03-phew

they keep on getting upset..... Pretty easy....

But why do you keep commenting in them?

Honest question , really not trolling but what is the difference between Steve honestly and objectively posting about the NBE and your constant posts about the AAC? 07-coffee3

Honest answer, because he's a troll same as you. There's no objectivity when you denigrate the Big East for getting thumped by ranked teams in the B1G, while conveniently ignoring the lambasting CUSA is giving all it's ex conference mates in the AAC.

When the Big East has days like this, why shouldn't they get called out on it? 1-2 so far, with admittedly a great win for Creighton, but then a pretty bad loss by Butler against Dayton.... And a loss by Marquette meaning if they don't win on Friday, they end the OOC play with exactly 0 road/neutral wins and 3 losses.

Now, I'm not and never will be as fatalistic as billyjack was- thinking only 2 bids is possible- but getting more than like 4 this year is going to be a real challenge. And 3 is very reasonable.

Wow. I only asked an honest question to someone that wasn't you, yet you resorted to name calling me. It's ok guy, every conference has its ups and downs. Sports are for the most part cyclical. STEP AWAY FROM THE LEDGE AND RELAX. 07-coffee307-coffee307-coffee3 oh yea HAPPY THANKSGIVING. 04-cheers

When the Big East has days like this they should get called out on it? Marquette lost to No.2 Kansas after leading them by eight at the half. Creighton beat No 16 Clemson. Butler lost to an undefeated Dayton team that looked pretty good to me. Why don't we wait for them to lose a game or two before deciding how bad a loss that is. And finally Xavier beat a B1G team in Illinois, for a 2-2 record on the day. It's interesting how high your expectations must be if this is a day the BE should be "called out" Particularly in view of the fact you'd be doing backflips if your own conference had a similar day.

there it is again- the infatuation with labels. Illinois sucks this year... Probably will lose close to 20 games.... But you act like it matters at all....

Also, the Butler loss hurts a lot more than a normal one because now instead of getting a shot at Virginia, they get stuck with Middle Tennessee that won't move the needle at all... And instead of Wisconsin or Oklahoma on Friday, it's Stanford or Florida.

Call me crazy, but, maybe Clemson isn’t that good? We’ll probably know more after their next two or three games, with Nebraska and Mississippi State in that span.

It's a message board??

Um, i get that. My question was why does he focus on the Big East? That seems to be a pet thing with him.

There are a bazillion games being played seemingly every day, yet as soon as a Big East team plays - really, it's the losses that excite him- there he is chiming in, while ignoring 30 other games that were played. It's some kind of infatuation, apparently. 07-coffee3

Wow. I only asked an honest question ...

Your Q was loaded not very honest, as you claimed stever's comments, which are obviously anti-Big East biased, were "honest and objective". But Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Memphis! 04-cheers

RE: Laughable Scores - 2018/19 Men's Basketball - pt 2
I'm sorry but I don't think anyone can say the Big East isn't down right now. They have 14 losses in 46 games. Last year they had 23 losses in 124 OOC games. But what is worse is they have had only like 4-5 games that will go down as even decent wins. I expected them to be down as they had a lot of great players leave- but not to this degree. The problem is going to be for the league when their players get the experience is that OOC play will be over, and their teams are going to be saddled with a lot of OOC losses. Already have 1 team with 3 losses, and 4 others have 2 losses. By end of this weekend, those numbers could go way up.

Sorry but I'm still not understanding how stevers pointing out objective facts about the NBE is any different than you kicking sand in the face of the AAC every chance you can even when we're winning,,,,,um guess it's depends on who Quo is a fan of. What's the old saying,,, It's no fun when the rabbit has the gun LOL.07-coffee3

showing the Big East winning percentages OOC.
2019 .696 so far
2018 .815
2017 .770
2016 .760
2015 .752
2014 .752

And I'd argue OOC means more to a conference like the Big East than larger conferences because teams are guaranteed to see the teams twice.

Also- Big East has never been lower than 4th OOC winning percentage. Right now, they're tied for 7th with the WCC.

What a blathering idiot! It was a thing that my wife and I would stay up so late to watch a basketball game, but Walton talked incessantly about everything but the game for the whole 2 and half hours it took to play it. Any enjoyment we might have had watching the game was gone by the end of the first half. We watched the game in silence when we finally had had enough. But to add to the discord and lack of enjoyment of what might have been a decent game, ESPN kept putting advertisements and graphics on the screen which obscured the live action.

Do they want us to watch the damned games or not? Satan has to work for ESPN. Science gives us HDTV that keeps getting even better and ESPN compensates by giving us lousier and lousier coverage!

And predictably, you're ignoring who the games are against. You've criticized yesterdays Big East results where they went 2-2. But the games were against Kansas, Clemson, Illinois and Dayton. Your conference went 3-1 yesterday against LA. Lafayette, Prairie View, Florida A&M and Wright St. Fortunately for you SMU rallied late to beat Wright St. in a 1 point nail biter, otherwise you would have been 2-2 also. Any time a Big East school loses, here you are with your obsession about them. But when the pre season favorite in your conference loses at home to Florida Atlantic, there's crickets from you. It would be nice to see you provide the same kind of "objective" analysis to your own conference as you do to the Big East.

Illinois is not good... Dayton we have no idea how good they are- their other wins are vs North Florida, Coppin St, and Purdue Ft Wayne. Now, if Dayton can beat Virginia great.... And Butler losing to them means that Butler now has to play a vastly inferior Middle Tennessee instead of getting a shot at Virginia(a game that would resonate).

The AAC has had a few disappointing teams- Wichita and SMU. The Cincy loss to Ohio St doesn't look bad at all now. UCF did lose to Florida Atlantic, but then won in Myrtle Beach beating St Joe's and Western Kentucky- 2 teams that could easily make the tourney this year... UConn looks like they are back. USF has improved a lot- if their coach has them foul Georgetown late in the game instead of letting them shoot a 3, they beat Georgetown. ECU while not great by any stretch got the FGCU coach, and have improved a lot. Tulane with Dunleavy is better.

and overall look at the AAC's OOC winning percentages
14 .715
15 .620
16 .650
17 .630
18 .696
ty .702

If those winning percentages continue for rest of the OOC season- AAC conference games are going to matter just as much as Big East conference games....
