The Sun Belt is the Mountaineers' to lose? Wait a minute, that implies they couple be double-digit favorites on their home field against Troy! Can't be!

Pretty much been the biggest fan complaint over the years. It's like we get to November and realize that we might not win the league and start playing really well.

If we'd stop taking parts of September and October off, this would be far easier.

That has to be the best article written about the conference as a whole in a long time.

I like the Sunbelt getting an article. However, they should have mentioned that the Troy vs App State will likely determine the East Division. I hope they really aren't figuring out ways for USA to beat ULL, because that is not going to happen.

I usually don't put too much stake in the FPI. App should be a slight favorite at home against Troy but a 78.3% chance to win seems crazy high to me.

I agree. Troy's defense has been getting back to 2017 form in the last few games. We have a lot more guys healthy now. I think at this point the teams are evenly matched, and it will come down to turnovers and line play.

I don't like a lot of stake in my FPI stew either. However, given the sample size we have of FPI, it is relatively accurate, but not precise on score. App had one bad game and everyone went sour on them. Had App not been No. 25 during that loss, I feel like people would actually be far more confident in their ability to win the conference than they currently are.

So long as Fehr and Thomas play the entire game, I expect App to have better than a 50% chance at winning. There are only a few positions on the team that I can imagine an injury or ejection would swing the game in Troy's favor, and those are two of the three.

Did Seminole Indian write the article? Only he would add the bit about Blake Anderson and devote an entire paragraph to it. Most national publications write about the Sun Belt as if no historical context is available and they have no first hand experience watching the Belt.

I believe it was A-State fan Jeremy Harper.

No, that article has AStatefanrules written all over it. He recently got hired over there. He's supposed to cover the entire league.

Good writer. His twitter banter with Southern and App fans is fun.
