Would he have done that if he was at Tennessee?

Think the biggest mistake - out of all the mistakes UT made last year - passing on Brohm was the biggest one.

If I remember correctly it was brohm not getting the contract he wanted and withdrew his name...

Yeah, but UT balked at paying the full $5 million buyout which is why he walked away. They had a deal in place. Then Curry was fired. Fulmer would never give the job to a guy like Brohm. Biggest CF coaching hire in the history of coaching hires.

RE: Jeff Brohm to Louisville?
Seems like Purdue could match most Louisville offers. Considering he's a Louisville grad, they might not want to.

I think this takes longer because if Brohm takes the job on Dec 6th he saves 1.1 million. There's really no rush to do it before then

RE: Jeff Brohm to Louisville?
He said same thing at WKU about Purdue job, coaches will never say they already have the job, that's the job for their agents to spell news so its leaked out to get more money for said coach...Everyone should know how this works by now....

Yeah... except it got Bobby Petrino the Atlanta Falcons job and Charlie Strong the Texas job.

It's also not as if he'd be leaving a great job in Purdue. Dating back to 1970 most of their coaches have had a three to five year tenure with a sub .400 winning percentage.

RE: Jeff Brohm to Louisville?
Noticed they have Holtz on the possible replacement list for Pudue

Report: Purdue has short list if Brohm leaves
Football Scoop reports that should Purdue HC Jeff Brohm leave for another job, the program has already come up with a short list of replacement candidates.

Brohm is viewed by many as the top option to take over the vacant head-coaching position at Louisville. Should he leave, Troy's Neal Brown, Alabama's Butch Jones, Louisiana Tech's Skip Holtz, Clemson's Tony Elliott, Maryland's Matt Canada and Memphis' Mike Norvell are all reportedly being bandied about as possibilities to replace him. The name that sticks out like a sore thumb, here, would be Butch Jones, who has been working as an analyst at Alabama after being canned by Tennessee last autumn.

Isn't the first signing period in December? He can't start recruiter for them until he takes the job.

Would be another interesting twist in the Tennessee failing to hire Brohm story.
