Wow, a tough game to call. Most likely depends on turnovers and lucky breaks. Memphis can grind it out if necessary and SMU can score quickly if necessary. Will SMU's defense show up like they did against Houston and Tulane? Big unknown.

And yes, we are 8 1/2 point favorites. That's crazy.

I think it must have to do with the recent history of Memphis lop-sided victories. In most people's mind, Memphis has been the much better team for the last 3 years or so, much like Houston (SMU 14 pt. underdog). We were touchdown+ underdogs to Tulane and Navy as well.

The past four years have been painful, and with one of the most successful runs in Memphis history coinciding with a tough patch for SMU people have a natural reason to think Memphis is going to dropkick SMU.

Hopefully we at least get a competitive game.

I think it should be a great game. I have no clue who will win. It depends partly on whether our D gets off the bus. If not, we could have a 100 point total game.

One thing for sure, the stakes are high. Well, as high as winning the West this season takes anybody, lol.

I haven’t kept up with SMU this year, but their results lead me to believe they are very Jekyll and Hyde.

I hope we are Dr. Jekyll on Offense, meaning surgically Very Good and Mr. Hyde on Defense, meaning a Monster and kill me some tigers.
