All our receivers have them though and we don’t have a clear #1. WR pass on 4th and 2 was a questionable call and tough spot to put the WR in when he’s not used to throwing the ball.

I'll respectfully disagree with you on the idea that those should have been interference penalties. Just because the receiver goes down after dropping the ball and then makes an ass of himself twice doing the "flag" motion doesn't mean it was actually interference.

I could be wrong. Maybe it was, but I didn't think so at the time. I have no intention of going back and rewatching last night's game. I'll cut Brown some slack on it, too. I think he was just frustrated at the offense's inability to sustain anything. None of those guys were OK with how they played last night. It was just a bad game.

Hey, maybe it was the annual post-MAC West-clinching "WTF is going on here?"-game we usually reserve for our appearances at Ford Field. If we play well the next two weeks, we can consign this one to the bin with all of the inexplicable CMU losses and Ball State in 2005.

There were several plays were the DB hit the receiver early. You don’t need to rewatch and the offense still played like crap but the no calls hurt. Especially when drives were killed with holding calls.

That is an unnecessary and flawed dig at NIU. What is the last Iowa wr in the NFL because I can tell you 2 from NIU.

(Fyi, it was iowa st)

Crawford is the one that got hurt right? And is still here for another year? Having him and 44 back would help stabilize the TE position a bit next year.

As for the WR's, in my opinion, Tears has been the biggest disappointment, at least from an expectation standpoint, he seems to have all the tools and occasionally shows it, but no consistency. But I think we also thought Tucker and Robinson would have more playing time and more success this season. Those two are going to have to grow if we're going to see improvement next year.

Could tell he was also frustrated, AD was talking to him and patting him on the back towards the end of the game.

Yeah, and I'm not trying to rip any of our guys that hard, it's a tough game, and I don't think anything we're seeing is lack of effort. They're trying, but it hasn't been good enough to be the team they (and we) want them to be.
