Also, Shaka just got swept by his assistants.

Shaka has had a longtime aversion to playing his assistants (he even claimed that he hated to be matched up against Akron in the NCAAs a few years ago because it put him up against his mentor, Keith Dambrot — though he didn't hate it enough to keep from beating the Zips by 46 points). Now he's 0-2 in the past week against them. Guessing this won't bode well for a series with LSU.

So we win the conference tournament but our RPI sucks because everyone we played turned out to be mediocre; therefore, we get a 16 seed.
On the other hand we win conference championship and have a decent RPI maybe we get a 14, 13, or 12 seed.
I'll root for our beaten opponents, even VCU.

I get your point and agree with it but the only way the CUSA champion gets a 16 is if a 16-14 team or worse wins the auto bid. If the regular season champ wins the tournament, 14 is the absolute floor for them and 12 or 13 is more likely.

How VCU does is going to have very little impact to our overall conference RPI, which is what actually matters in seeding (actually it's kenpom/NET) but you get the idea. Rooting for VCU is obviously your choice, but them winning games really doesn't help us that much. Instead you should be rooting for our conference mates in their out of conference play.

VCU doing good/bad absolutely affects us

Not enough for people to need to root for them.

The next best thing about college basketball after a Monarch victory is hearing about the Rams losing. The Monarchs will dance or not on their own merits. I always want VCU to lose.

Let me reiterate. If you're pulling for VCU, you're doing it wrong.

Agreed. Let their streak of not making the dance begin. Humble pie for those pricks.

Agree, our Conference mates OOC games, if they win will impact everyone in the Conference. But, I think if we are fortunate enough to win at Syracuse, along with the VCU Win and a strong run in Conference. Well, it could be a factor on where we play or if we are in a post season tournament.

Don't look now but VCU is beating No. 4 UVa. 43-38 with 6:40 left

EDIT: Virginia now up 44-43 with 5:08 left. I'd say it's a good game but you have to like rock fights which ... oh right, this is an ODU board, we live for rock fights.

UVA up 49-45 on an interesting call leading to a 5 point play. Over.

Yeah, they said the refs ruled that the shooter was already in his shooting motion when the whistle blew on the foul away from the ball, but it seemed like nearly a whole second after the whistle and I don't think that guy's shooting motion is THAT slow.

I'm watching the only CUSA game tonight and had no clue that Marshall has a guy listed at 6'9" 350lbs that sees action.

Marshall fans thought he was the next big thing and I don't mean "size."

There biggest problem is Elmore if performing like he did most of last year and not how he did in last 4-5 games.

We aren’t getting an at large and it really is only going to move us up one kind in seeding even if they are fantastic, which they aren’t, so no it really doesn’t.

Yet another thing you are completely and totally wrong about. Par for the course at this point.
