Probably won't affect ODU sports that much, they already just use our radio feed for most of the ESPN3 and ESPN+ broadcasts.

Agreed. But I figured everyone would find that decision interesting.

I also expect to see less and less ESPN3 options and more ESPN+ options. That's certainly already the case for this year's basketball season. If they are only going to offer a streaming option they may as well get paid for it.

I worry that Porter is going to lose minutes. He really isnt giving them a ton and Brown looks like a star. Watching them last nigbt, there was a big difference between the 2.

He brought his A game last night, fulfilling every negative memory I have of him. 2bfouls in the first 5 minutes, technical foul, a couple ridiculous flops and fouled out early. It was a full Trey Porter performance.

Edit:. Forgot. He tried to trip someone too.

I’m surprised by Nevada’s weak OOC schedule. They’re certainly talented, but I would have expected better scheduling.

I really hate when people use the transitive property to evaluate sports.

I'm 100% sure he was joking, as I know he hates it just as much.

Oh I know he was and I know he does. I am confirming my hatred for that thought.

Bassey looks like an absolute stud. He's really the difference maker for them this year. They love to hype guys (like Diagne....LOL), but Banton, Ohmer, and Anderson have all be awful this year. They really need Bearden to come back and play well.

That was a fun game to watch though. When Taco was out, Bassey ate them for lunch; OTOH, Taco maes it so no one can score in the paint when he's in. He's must see TV.

Agree on Bassey. Savage also looks to me like a real player, just one who needs some effective coaching (which Stansbury probably may not be equipped to furnish).

Tacko for UCF is a fascinating player, in more than one way. I only half-kiddingly think that his foul shot would be more effective if he tried to bounce it in.

Tacko Fall's free throw shooting is something to behold. I really don't know why someone doesn't convince him to try to shoot it underhand.

Vcu 4-0 even though mike rhoades sucks, we definitely didn’t need Marcus Evans over Bj stith and Jeff jones is God’s gift to basketball lol

So you complained last year when we had a good winning percentage against a weak schedule, and now that VCU is 4-0 against Gardner-Webb, Hampton, Bowling Green, and Temple, they get compliments? They beat Temple scoring 57 points, by the way. Not exactly an offensive masterpiece.

VCU vs St Johns will be interesting tonight. Get a look to see how VCU competes against a top 50 team. Can they score? There offense is worse than ours so far (212 v 198) and facing a pretty good St Johns defense.

St. John's should blast them.

But VCU needed a weak schedule early. It gets much tougher later with road games @UVA @Texas and home against Wichita State. Throw in a games on the road against St. Johns tonight and ODU, and that will be a nice schedule to get us the CHANCE at an at-large. Still got to win a "statement" game.

I was at Barclays last night. This is a very different team than we had last year. And we only have two seniors, only one who plays. So this is just a warmup for next year. Evans started, still coming off his Achilles injury. Coach says he is about 75% right now. Late in the game after we went cold, Evans stepped up and took over the game. He finished with 21. Remember Havoc? We are getting close to that again. Early in the game Temple looked confused. They did not know what hit them. I have not seen this type of intense defense in a long time.

Should is the operative word. VCU tends to rise up and play well against better competition. Us...that is a different story. While I have not been impressed with VCU thus far this season....you can see they have several scoring options and the ability to keep the other team's defense honest.
