I'll just add that it's strange that Gadsden didn't shoot a 3 ball after last week. That should change in the 2nd half because he should know by now that the other guys aren't doing anything. Estime at least shot the ball a bit and generally plays with confidence. He didn't make his normal % but he's leaving it out there. Oh, and Cylla scored the same amount as a dead man. These guys need to start freaking playing.

Sounds like we are "just playing" better in the second half. Sad that Cacok has 4 fouls. I'd like him to get his numbers and he needs to keep playing to get them (He's in the rebound and double-double hunt nationally).

True but we also need to start preparing for life after Cacok. Games like these give us that opportunity. So I guess that’s a silver lining...

I'm glad he got his double -double with seconds to go in the 2nd half. He has a chance to lead the nation this year...which would give him three different categories in 3 years - which I don't think has ever been done! Only 5 guys have ever lead in two categories in two years ever, and he is one of them.

I think he has earned his way into the starting lineup.
I'd start him, then let Cylla sub in, then let O'Connell sub in for Cacok and keep that rotation. O' Connell or Cacok should be in the game at all times.

We scored 29 points the first half on a goal that had open space behind it. Looked like a depth perception problem. We scored 49 in the second half with seating behind the basket. We start on opposite sides tomorrow night. Would like to see them put a curtain up behind the open basket.
It was also the best I've seen the team play with Cacok on the bench. They actually increased the lead without Devontae in the game. I'm thinking that may be a first for us this year.

We were actually really impressive in the 2nd half. Cacok had a couple "BS" foul calls on him, he shouldn't have been in foul trouble. He got 19 and 10 playing tentatively. I agree on the hoop with no background. Arkansas State couldn't shoot on that basket either, after hitting 7 3s in the 1st half. Hopefully, we can keep up the 2nd half performance for 40 minutes tomorrow.

They took 2 points away from Cacok. They now have him with 17 points. The scoreboard had him with 19.

I definitely can understand that kind of an issue because we've all had that problem at times, and that sucks, but you still have to lock in on the rim. They have to be a KILLERs when they shoot and it has to have complete confidence. After you get your footwork in order, just release it. I didn't see that in the UNCG game and it's something they need to clean up. And, it's about getting quality looks too. If it's inside outside action (preferable), I'm totally great with it or in transition.
Well, they woke up and did what they are supposed to do. They beat a team that they should beat. That's a good first step. O'Connell plays ball the way he should play. That's why stats are for losers. He plays the game the right way. Others on the team should take note. He looked like he could play the first time I saw him. It's not about the highlight reel, it's about moving and simply making the right basketball play.
This team has enough talent to win games. They need to communicate on defense and value the ball. If it's not there, pull it back and get some ball reversals and some paint touches. We need somebody to step up and be a guy at the end of the clock too. That may be down the road but will be key in close games. Talley was a closer and we need someone that can drive it strong and make a play late in the clock. Who's gonna take that role or will it be by committee?

Great to battle back for the first win. Got that out of the way and now time to go to work on the next two. Don’t overlook anyone. Just go out there and take care of business.

Well, UNCW is a 1 point underdog to Gardner FREAKING Webb. Are you kidding me? I think that the Hawks win this game. Who is going to stop Cacok? They can't possibly have more talent can they? We shall see...

Having more talent doesn't always = wins unfortunately. Good adjustments yesterday at halftime by coach, the adjustment piece, IMO, was one of the things that had been lacking!
