Another game, another story
Our superfrosh guard did not look quite so good tonight. 4 points. 1 of 5 shooting. Only 2 assists against 5 turnovers. However, the other 4 starters all had nice games.

Bankston 6 of 7 from the field, 8 boards, 3 blocks.

RE: Another game, another story
I was impressed. We are clearly a lot more than won player. We had a lot of guys score in double figures or in the high single digits. There's only one ball and they shared it well. We win easily with Markquis and DeAndre scoring 4 points combined. We will be fun to watch and will win our share of games along the way.

A 16 point road win and 56% shooting is better than I expected. 83-67 looks like a faster paced game and more shooting than previous years. I agree the Trojans will be fun to watch this year. I am planning on taking the 90 minute drive up the Turner Turnpike next Monday to see them in person @ Tulsa. Win or lose, it should be a good game.

Nice to see Maric in double figures. And Lottie's game seems to be improved from last season.

We scored 52 points in the 2nd half. We scored 52 points in the paint and won the boards.

I think he is going to be a good one. Have to go back to Carlos Rogers to find a freshman big man with his skills upon arrival on campus. He is definitely not a project, like I expected when he arrived. Good footwork, nice looking shot, and high basketball IQ. Also a really nice young man, whose English language skills were amazing for someone who had been in the US for 3 days when I met him.

I expected to win and I am glad my expectations were met. We are a deep team with several weapons. I consider Burns one of our top 3 players and he has really struggled thus far. When he gets back in the groove we will be even tougher. I realize we will probably struggle some but I honestly will be surprised if we are not above .500 for the season.

I'm glad as well, even if I wasn't as confident as you. I now feel like we have a decent shot to beat Tulsa, although that will be a much tougher task.

Honestly, I would be ok getting beat by Tulsa at their place. Blown out or humiliated? NO! but a solid effort that falls a little short would sit fine with me 07-coffee3

Tulsa has been a quality program, and with our beginning a "who knows what?" year, we ought to be the underdogs. Hope we win. No shame if we lose.

Ought to be a good game and an indicator of how far north of .500 we are likely to fall overall, if at all. So far it appears that Darrell knows how to manage a game and get the most out of his roster. From what I read, he made adjustments in the second half of both games that made a difference in the outcome.
