IMO, we're probably going to have a handful of extra Bowl teams this year. So this 40th game gets us "ahead of the curve" in terms of ensuring that all eligible teams go Bowling.

I'll take 15 miles from Myrtle Beach over Shreveport, Albuquerque, Montgomery, Birmingham, Detroit & Boise every day of the week. Plus there are 10 outstanding golf courses within 5 miles of the CCU stadium. That's a bowl trip I can get into!

I agree. It would be wonderful to fully get the Detroit game back.

I'm cool with the Myrtle Beach Bowl if Birmingham or Detroit is taken out.

Personally I'd rather eliminate the Rose Bowl. The organizing committee has long been a thorn in the process of trying to match good teams or having a playoff. Their obstruction should be removed by eliminating the game.

Honest question here, what is there too do in Myrtle Beach in December? It's got to be way to cold to swim so what's the attraction for fans other than the game and the fact that there are lots of empty lodging available in the off season?

The beaches are still very relaxing to walk on even if you are in jackets and jeans. The food around Myrtle Beach, especially North Myrtle Beach is great. The Parson's Table is up the road and I never had a meal there that wasn't high quality. And South Myrtle has your Putt Putt, and typical rides for the kids. South Myrtle has a state park where you can rent cabins.

You just need to search all of the things ahead of time and see what your family wants to do.

But it's been at least 10 years since we last headed that way so some things may have changed in the way of top restaurants.

Golf, Putt Putt (an impossibly large amount of it in fact), Theme-ish parks (the NASCAR souped up go cart one is fun), endless restaurants, a half dozen serious music venues, deep sea fishing. If you're willing to drive a bit ... Battleship North Carolina and/or Patriot's Point with the USS Yorktown.

The Parson's Table in Little River was always one of my favorites. And it is (I hope it's still there) just as accessible from the Brunswick County (NC) beaches as it is to Myrtle.

RE: Myrtle Beach Bowl
Man I was just saying how we need more lower tier bowls that nobody attends and very few watch. Glad ESPN was listening.
