I honestly think we win out. We played a pretty darn good against UAB at their place with our 13th string QB. We typically own La Tech in football...plus the fact that bowl eligibility is on the line, senior day, last home game for seniors etc...means I think our guys will come out on FIRE and get the W (although it wouldn't shock me if we lost). Honestly, the game @ UTEP worries me more because they're a team w/ nothing to lose and they've played almost everyone really close. Predictions:

USM 28

USM 31
UTEP 20

If we finish the reg. season 6-5, do we get snubbed? If not, is it an automatic ticket to the NOLA bowl for us?

Why not try to schedule another game in 12/1?

This is all under the assumption we don't get a game scheduled. However, I think we are in talks w/ schools but I don't know the latest....originally we tried to get that last game w/ South Carolina but I think they are playing Akron instead. Last I heard is we were in talks w/ Virginia Tech. Pretty intriguing match-up....but we could be bowl-eligible before that game so it wouldn't mean much in terms of going bowling. Would be nice to get a P5 scalp tho! Fans would prob get more amped up for that game then our actual bowl game (if we were go to one).

I don't understand how a team as bad as us can still have a chance at bowl eligibility.

Who knows...maybe. ODU beat them. As of 11/5, our AD was quoted as saying there's a good chance of having a 12th game scheduled within a couple of weeks.

Yeah, we aren't very good, but I still want them to go bowling this year. We probably don't deserve it, but who cares.

I think pretty much everyone will agree with you on this one. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if UTEP beat us.

Yep, no 12th game. If we lose to Tech, season is done.

What do 5-7 teams have to do to go bowling? And would USM be able to do that if we finished 5-6?

No. Waivers now only for APR. If your APR is there maybe.

Only if there's not enough teams with 6 wins and then 5 win APR schools. Even if there were still open spots for teams to fill I would think those 5 win P5 schools would fill them

At that point it's how well the team ranks in academics vs other teams with similar records.

Real question: Do we really want to go bowling with a losing record? That doesn't sound like much fun. It's also counter to what I've heard said on this board countless times that people with losing records shouldn't be allowed to go.
