Don't know if Teddy is a difference in this one. Our point guard would have never given him the ball. All he knows how to do is shoot bad shots.

I think he is worth more than four and more importantly adds a dimension to the offense that may result in some easy shots you don't currently see. I think the La Tech loss is a first game type issue, but for the game tonight I think he could have been a difference.

You remind me of the 19 year old homeschool kid that worked out in the shop with me at walmart in college. He overheard us talking about blow jibbers and we told him it was slang for boobs. He ran to us the next time a woman walked through the shop to the store and asked if we saw the blow jibbers on that one.

It's the 2nd game of the season. There are several teams in this conference with a bunch of 1st time players.

Wichita State losing to Louisiana Tech the first game of the season isn't terrible. Memphis losing on the road by single digits @ a ranked LSU squad who just landed the #5 class isn't a bad loss either. It's early. This isn't college football. Both of these teams more than anything need to see growth throughout the year from their freshman.

Memphis going on the road and being in that game is a good sign. Based off of what we saw, Memphis didn't play it's best and LSU is as of right now is a top 25 opponent.

We did improve from week 1 though. Had we played like we did against Tennessee Tech we'd have lost this game by 25+.

Pesik, there were several set plays. I know you like to talk college ball. I was never a D1 coach, but while I was in the Army I coached several teams in competitive leagues both for the Army and outside of the Army. As well as played from about the time I was 5 years old. I will gladly talk more with you regarding types of offenses, trying to set tempos, and so on.

Just because a team is pushing tempo, taking quick shots, pressing on defense and so on does not mean they "roll the ball out". It is a style. Going inside out, drive and dish, and so on are vital to an uptempo style of play. If you are coming down the court and trying to establish 12-15 second plays going between 2-3 at a time to try and find on that works, it defeats the purpose of trying to go uptempo at all. Might as well be running the Princeton. You will do that at certain points in the game, and Memphis did.

I was personally surprised to see us actually do it. This team has already come a long way from even a week ago. Very impressed. We still have a lot to clean up, but that's expected when your team is basically playing a freshman backcourt 30+ minutes a game 2 games into the season.

Wichita State showed MAJOR improvement especially from their leaders in the Providence game. I was really impressed with them in that game. Coming back from being down early, hitting big shots, playing tough, etc...

Season is young people.

He was vacuuming out a car on a lift during an oil change and I reached up with a broom and shut off the vacuum and hid under the lift. When he came out and turned it back on I flipped it off again when he got back in the car. After four times, I hid in the supply room and walked out and asked him what was going on with the vacuum. He told me it kept shutting off. I said “oh yeah, thats been happening. Tell the shop manager so he knows its still acting up” and walked out to the counter where the manager was. I told him that HB was going to come out and say something and to just go with it. HB came out shaking his head and leaned on the counter and told the manager that the vacuum was shutting itself off again four times. Manager looked at me and without missing a beat said, “Yeah, stupid thing. Been doing that a lot lately.” I about died laughing.
