Coaches and media really don't like MAC teams very much. UAB and Buffalo are both 9-1 yet UAB is receiving nearly twice as many points in AP and Coaches Poll than Buffalo.

Buffalo's one loss was to an 8-2 team and UAB's one loss was to a 5-5 team that I thought was a 1-AA but apparently plays in the Sun Belt.

UAB hasn't played one P5 program.

They play Texas A&M next week, so that'll be a test of whether they are legit or not.

I understand they lost their program for one year or however long it was but they've played probably the easiest schedule I've ever seen.

Didn't the NCAA help them out by letting anyone who wanted to transfer into UAB play immediately?

Don’t really have an opinion about UAB. But it was interesting that when their program folded, two of their players transferred to Buffalo. Colin Lisa played WR for the Bulls for one season, maybe two. Then when UAB reinstated their program, he transferred back. I think the other guy stayed w the Bulls.

Bulls losing to Army was one thing, but getting destroyed by them was not good for their chances of cracking the rankings. UAB is a joke though, schedule-wise.

Anthony Johnson not playing certainly didn't help Buffalo. They're so much better when he plays.

UAB got blown out by Coastal Carolina.

You can't get absolutely blown out in front of your own sold out home crowd on national television to Army and expect to get much respect (I've seen your games now and the attendance is bad). Buffalo couldn't handle the pressure. Really too bad because if they hadn't laid a dud that game, they would be in top consideration for the NY6 bowl. MAC needs that money!

Coaches in CUSA, AAC, MWC, SBC even tend to rate their programs solidly in the Top 25.

MAC coaches tend not to give themselves votes.

Their strongest tests of the season are coming up @ Texas A&M and @ MTSU. That's likely 1-1 and quite possibly 0-2. If they beat both, I'll be convinced of a ranking.

UAB has the 2nd season back from death penalty thing still ringing. UBs story is Anthony Johnson, a monstrously sized QB and a Coach with a previously amazing record at WI Whitewater.

UAB definitely a product of a weak schedule. Only P5 team they play and they're losing 34-7.
