Im rooting for UVA. I just would rather not have 1 of those two teams dominate the series. It's time for UVA to win one.

From what I read Marshall gets to keep some kind of insurance policy that's over a million dollars if they play VT.

Tech had some issues long before ODU beat them but I'm happy the ECU game was canceled so that we could be the first to upset them this season! I feel like we played jenga with their season!

Well Virginia Tech is playing motivated in front of an empty stadium

Part of me really wished VT blew it this year but the former Hokie fan in me is happy for them keeping the bowl streak alive. Besides, we do get to say we beat a bowl-eligible Tech team is that is any consolation

Interesting how ODU's win over Tech continues to resonate wherever I go. I was at Reynolds Coliseum yesterday watching our ladies play, wearing my ODU shirt, and several Wolfpack fans came up to me and told me how pleased they were when we beat them. I was in Washington DC at the Museum of the Bible wearing ODU sweater when a gentlemen approached me and said he enjoyed the ODU win over Tech.

Ya. I think we start winning one of those p5 games every year or 2 or often enough and that moves the needle more than any of the smaller bowls.

Mayor Alexander spoke at our civic league meeting last night. While discussing the positive directions Norfolk is going, he touched on ODU and said, "ODU graduates the most STEM students in the state after Virginia Tech.... we had to let them beat us at something."

I live in Colonial Place. So the discussion was about Colonial Place and Riverview and the projects they are doing that will impact both neighborhoods. Which impacts ODU in a positive way, albeit indirectly.

They are reevaluating the traffic flow on Hampton in order to make it safer. They are repaving 38th from Hampton to Granby in 2019. They are renovating the Granby Street Bridge in 2019. The city hired a new traffic engineer to evaluate making North Colley, Granby Street and Norfolk more friendly for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

He also talked about the St Paul's Project, the city budget, crime (and police pay raises) and their new focus on holding the school board more accountable; All of which would impact ODU in an indirect way.
