TSU plays in the Ohio Valley Conference. Lindy's picked them 7th of 12 teams. They have had one official game so far, a loss on the road at Lipscomb.

Against Lipscomb they started 6-8, 6-5, 6-4 across the front line, and they can bring 6-9, 6-8 off the bench. They shot 41% overall and 31% from the arc. However, they were 11 of 13 from the FT line. They got beat on the boards 40-33. Stokley Chaffee, their big man, blocked 4 shots and had 7 boards. Fitzpatrick-Dorsey (the PA guy must love that tongue-twister) led them with 26 points, including 3 of 4 from the arc. Looks like probably a 7-man rotation, maybe 8.

I know it is early, but for what it is worth Sagarin picks us by 2.

Not worth much, but I'll take a 2 point win on the road.

I’ll be watching to see if our defense improves. I fully expect to win this game even though it is on the road. I look for a better performance from Burns as well.

I am very hopeful we will be able to get the win. I wish I was as confident as you are, but squeaking by a DII team, at home, doesn't give me a ton of confidence. I do think we have quite a bit of talent on this team. Markquis, Rayjon, and Jaczek were 3 star players out of high school. I pretty sure that's the most 3 stars we have ever had on the same team. Chris looks really improved. Nikoli could end up being a real "steal". I expect a lot out of DeAndre and Ryan will be solid. Just need to gel, as a team, and I think we will be pretty good.

If this team gets over the hump in DW's first season, it will be Nowell who makes it happen. Throw a special player into the middle of a group of good players, and good things happen. I think we could have both on this team. However, I am worried about our play up front. Bankston will have to have some help. Maybe that will be Maric.

Steve messed with his shot mechanics and ruined him. I was SO pumped about him. Hope he’s well.
