This season is not over. There is a ton of youth on this team that will get better as the year goes on. It is not the young guys that are the problem. It is a senior. If he cannot pull his weight, he needs to go to the bench. End of story.
We say the same thing year after year after year! Nothing changes and nothing will change and these young guys will be the problem when they are seniors! They just aren't good enough to play competitively at this level. If this is all we can recruit then we really need to consider going back to a conference (CAA) that is more to our talent level or get a coach and staff that can recruit the better players. With the facilities we have to offer there is absolutely no reason why we can't get to them. JJ is not a good recruiter, period. If we stay in CUSA we need a change or be satisfied with what we have cause it is not going to get any better! Myself, I had more enjoyment with the team in the CAA! At least we were one of the top 3 teams each year, we had local rivalries and even going to the "Brown Dump" at tournament time was fun especially on Monday nights!!!
So if when VCU and GMU left the CAA you would have been good with staying and being in the current CAA? YA RIGHT! All you CAA fools out there forget that VCU and GMU left and we made the best move at the time. The CAA changed and we adapted. Stop living in this stupid fantasy land that the CAA was so great and we should have never left!
Indeed. Once VCU and Mason left, the CAA became irrelevant as far as ODU was concerned.
Although I don't agree, there was merit to the argument to keep football in the CAA had we been able to take our other sports to the A10.
There is no rational argument for keeping MBB in the CAA w/o VCU and GMU, none.
Sure there is... being in a 1 bid Virginia conference > being in a 1 bid Texas conference

Also, a higher rated basketball conference. I am not willing to say, I would like to take football back to the CAA, so I am okay with CUSA, as much as I hate it, but I can definitely see an argument for CAA basketball being preferable to CUSA basketball.

RE: Paradise Jam
The positive about the CAA is only proximately to conference mates. I think it's pretty clear that CUSA has passed CAA in basketball.
Last year there were 3 CUSA teams ranked higher than the highest CAA team (Northeastern)...and that didn't even include Marshall. There were 5 CUSA teams ranked higher than the 2nd best CAA team. In 2017, it was closer. Its early this year, but there could also be 3 CUSA teams better than the top ranked CAA team.
The only reasonable justification for CAA being similar or better than the CUSA is because the CAA doesn't have the couple bottom feeders in their conference. The bottom feeders in the CUSA have moved up so far this year (early) while CAA bottom feeders have moved down.

Also, in the CAA, there are 10 teams competing for a bid. In CUSA, there are 14. I'm not arguing to move back to the CAA. We have made our bed and the argument either way isn't worth spending millions in entry/entry fees. The A10 is now at 14 and not expanding anytime soon. In retrospect, we made a mistake because if we had stayed, we'd be one of the 14 in the A10, but now we are stuck. There is no ideal way out of where we are and there aren't enough (non P5) regional FBS teams to create a new conference. Even if we split from CUSA West and added some of the closer Sunbelt schools like many have suggested, travel will still suck and there will still be no rivalries. 12 hour bus trips to the deep South are no more easier on players or fans than 4 hour flights to Texas and Louisiana. Maybe cheaper and preferable from an AD standpoint, but certainly no better for fans or players.

They got the Paradise. Not they are experiencing the Jam.

The posts (some far worse than the ones posted here) coming from the official @ODUMBB account are kind of embarrassing. I don't feel like that is the account for whining, valid or not. This is your marketing account. Keep it professional.

I'd have to agree with you on that. Unfortunately, things like manners, respect, and professionalism aren't what they used to be and they aren't showing any signs of getting better in the future.

Ok sunshine. Obviously you don’t use social media much, if you think those are embarrassing.
