RE: In Defense of the Legion Field DJ
DJ needs to learn you don’t play music while the home team is on offense. Especially not 3rd and long when the other team has the momentum and is getting hyped up. the particular times that we had mike raita doing his stuff was unnecessary and killing the energy where the band could’ve played something the fans could’ve chanted to, right after defense got a stop or our offense scored a TD or got a first down. I’m fine with the playlist. Not much you can play besides hip hop and rock at sporting events that fit.
The crowd energy wasn’t there in the first half, neither was the teams. I know it was cold, but I didn’t feel like the crowd was into it. So I moved down, stood up and blew that dang horn on every defensive down in the second half. We might as well have that type of mentality from the beginning of the game like every other fanbase in the FBS does that wants to be taken seriously. It helps in recruiting, no matter the size of the crowd just to see the passion and engagement of the fans in the game.
Disappointed we didn’t get to chant UAB to Rock and Roll played by the band.

I got con’d into play Mo Bama at a high school homecoming dance. Thank God it was the clean version. That song is awful.

There is a clean version but you can tell everything that is left out. I wish it wouldn’t get played ever again. And if I’m the one in the press box I won’t play it.

The players love it so keep playing it. The band also performed it in the fourth quarter.

I hate it for them. But I am completely aware that there are small children at the game and I will not play that song. Ever.

It's played at nearly every stadium.

Good for them. I won’t do it. There are better songs than that one to listen to at a football game.

I agree that there are better songs, but since it's popular now and the players/coaches like it they will continue to play it. The marching band did a great job playing it too.

The rhythm of the song certainly is catchy, the words in the song shouldn't be.
