He's played in every game this year, so maybe you can explain how his departure fits your conspiracy theory.

Not sure how Dill’s departure fits the ABO II other than the fact he is a junior. Curious how Tyner doesn’t see the field after his 2 issues against UTSA yet Stank had three hiccups Saturday making 10 int’s on the season and he is working on protecting the ball and knows that it is important. But he had that one amazing throw Saturday. Tough selling a turd as a bar of gold.

I don't know what "my conspiracy theory" is... I have never been part of the ABO cult. That said, I do know (from watching the games) that Dill's playing time has consistently decreased as the season has progressed.

His “heart wasn’t in football anymore”. According to Glynn Hill.

RE: Rice vs LSU
Just watched Ed Orgeron's press conference as they prepare for Rice. Several Items to note:

The Tigers have to finish strong to make a New Year's bowl game. He emphasized they have to be strong against Rice for any consideration.

They may have noticed a "tell" in their offensive sets" that has been tipping off their screen passes and stalling their offense since the Georgia game, which is an essential part of their game plans. They are making adjustments.

They really want to get running back Nick Brossette 1,000 years for the season. He currently has 843 yards.

There are several freshman that have not played this year who would not lose their red-shirt that they want to get in the game. They are aiming to make that possible, but there are no guarantees.

Orgeron noted the loss last year to Troy being their wake up call that they cannot take any team lightly and they are planning to go "full bore" against Rice.

All of that seems to indicate that the Tigers will show no mercy to the Owls. Now, it is possible that much of this is "coach speak" but my guess is that they want a New Years bowl game and want Brossette to get 1,000 yards. I think it is going to be a loooooooooooooong evening in Baton Rouge.

They have no reason to “take it easy” on us. No one in any game should take it easy on an opponent. With limited games it is not the greater teams job to make things comfortable for their opponent. We put them in the schedule so let’s go git some. Their players shouldn’t be limited to achieve their maximum effort because we stink.

Yes but the game will be closer than the score would indicate.

Wow. Rice is getting $1.4MM payout for the LSU game; the largest payout in the Coach Orgeron era at LSU...

I'm actually not surprised at this. As inept as our program has been on the field, the University's substantial cachet and our power-conference legacy status do make us a decently attractive opponent -- and not only does this enable us to command a premium in the market, it would make our scheduling as an independent more feasible than many people here think (at least until we got too good to play the role of November cupcake anymore, haha).

It’s not a real moneybag game though because we pay them to come to NRG (even though NRG will likely pay that fee). Also, LSU doesn’t care if it’s Rice or Troy. They pay to play us in real moneybag games because we’re an easy win. I doubt they’ll pay Troy to come play them again.

We get $3.4MM ($1.4+$2.0 in 2024) and they get $3.5MM (2020 at NRG).
Regardless of what LSU gets from NRG, good for us that we're getting somewhat competitive paydays. Next, we need to become competitive on the field.

RE: Rice vs LSU
LSU plays Rice three times in the next seven years. That's more often then some other opponents like Chattanooga appear on their schedule, but then again LSU and Rice had not played for several years previous to 2018. So they do seem to have a slight, but only very slight, inclination to schedule Rice from amongst the choice of patsies.

Here's another flashback: my first Rice football game (1966, Jess Neely's last year) was a 17-15 win over LSU. There were 65,000 in the stands. After the game Neely was criticized for not going for two points when Rice scored to make it 16-15, thus giving Rice a 3-point lead. That was the first year of the 2-point conversion and it was said it was too newfangled for Neely.

It looks like this game was moved up to ESPNU.
