I have been a big Malzahn fan since he came to Auburn in 2009 and this is exactly what I was worried about when he came. I hope he moves on quickly so I can be a fan of wherever he ends up.

They have no idea how to do a graceful coaching change down there, do they?

Nope. Biggest cluster you have ever seen.
They would be wiser sending money to Saban asking him to retire.
They are nowhere in Alabama's league now and pretty much have been passed over by Georgia.
As long as they are 2nd in the east they might as well be 7th in the east.

I don't believe throwing Gus under the bus a year after beating Alabama is a good thing.

Too bad he didn't take that Arkansas gig last year. He seems to be a good guy.......wish him the best.

I'm glad he didn't take the Arkansas job because I don't want to face him.

Oh man. It just got worse. Latest report is that the President gave Malzahn a contract that says he can't hire or fire anyone and that he gets rid of his buyout. Then the president leaves town and puts a trustee in charge. Why is the AD not handling this?

Clark hasn't been mentioned by any insiders on the Tech boards, so unless something changes I wouldnt worry too much

Brohm turning down his alma mater is a bad sign for Louisville. That might turn into a train wreck, a la Tennessee 2017. They might end up with Watson Brown.

This. I think it'll be interesting to see how the fanbase reacts. The narrative out there is that GT is tired of the option and wants someone to take them in a different direction (Ken Wisenhunt seems to be their #1 target). However the vast majority of the posts I've seen on GT boards had their fans wanting someone to keep the option and bring in a more modern version (names I saw Willie Fritz, Army Coach, Ga Southern Coach, etc.).

RE: Fired Coaches Thread
Ecu has fired Scottie Montgomery. Here’s where there’s a problem with Charlotte and Mike Houston. Houston claims he was only offered and he’s definitely interested, but James Madison could go deep into the playoffs and he likely wants to coach through every bit of it.

Charlotte was trying to get this done before ECU opened up. Don’t even think Houston and Charlotte agreed in principle.

@ESPNRittenberg

Two more names I'm hearing for #GeorgiaTech job: #Temple coach Geoff Collins, a former GT assistant who several sources say is pushing for this one; and #UAB coach Bill Clark.

Haha I came here to post and you beat me to it, still havent heard his names from tech insiders though, Whisenhunt, Tony Elliot, Geoff Collins seem to be the most common and feasible names being thrown around. There are some who believe that Whisenhunt was a done deal before Johnson stepped down. As a fan of Gt and UAB, I would selfishy be ok with clark :)
