With the additional issue of not giving our backups valuable time.

To me it appeared that ODU didn't go full throttle. There were some HUGE mismatches to ODU's favor that they didn't exploit. Their CB's and Safety's were pretty small guys.

It was fun to watch the first half. The best part of the second half was when some members of the band followed a guy to the portapotty, waited for him to enter, surrounded it and played until he was done.

Wish the fireworks at the end were better. Was impressed with how much brighter the new lights are vs the old ones.

It didn't hit me until they switched back, I guess because the fireworks were in between old and new initially. When they went straight new-->old, boy, did the old lights seem dimmer.

And as someone who hasn't studied the intricacies of the rendering, are there two more behind the West stands that they have yet to build?

The fireworks were disappointing. I know they are expensive, but ODU should have spent more for the “good ones.” I’m looking forward to the new stadium next year and getting to hear Norfolk State’s band on opening day.

I think overall we did alot to try and avoid humiliating VMI. Fourth string QB, back-ups galore, etc.

However, I'm not sure any of you can ***** about the UNC ass-whooping moving forward.

I agree up to a point.
IMHO, we should have started subbing after the score was 42-0.
However, 49-0 was a judgement call that was ok as well.

However, I am very perplexed as to the bringing back of the #1s to start the 2nd half.
What?

It was great to see our seniors shine today. Both Duhart and Fulgham with TDs, Harper with a return TD. Cox with 2 TDs. Ox with 2 sacks. Noye with interception for TD.

Yep, I would have enjoyed 10 seconds of big fireworks than the 5 min of the baby stuff we had. :(

Agree with the fireworks not being good. I was actually surprised they allowed them to be ignited off the roof top behind the scoreboard. It got smokey. Maybe if the building had caught fire it would have sped up phase 2! Them playing Closing Time took me back 20 years to high school and all night skates.

Takes me back too. Though all the skating rinks had closed where I grew up by the time the song came out.

That song took me back to Longwood University. First time I heard it was at the end of a party some fraternity was throwing, maybe sigma nu? Shrug. I spent my weekends visiting my friends and crashing in their dorms at all the different universities.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

I thought the fly over was the best one yet. They kept the closing ceremony brief and to the point. Well done.

Talking about flyovers! I don't ever recall in the past years all the commercial airliner flyovers than this year. I count 4 last night. A lot of air traffic over Foreman this season.

RE: ODU vs. VMI
Thought the closing ceremony was well done. Yes the fireworks did come as not too spectacular, but that space behind the scoreboard and in front of the ROTC building leaves little room for error with the super big fireworks. And they really couldn’t pull it off anywhere else. So for what it was able to do, well done. Enjoyed Closing Time as well, really cool throwback tune. And very cool of Foreman’s descendants shutting off the lights. Kudos to whoever arranged it all.

What?

Just what has been traditionally done forever (at least since the late 1950s in my case). There are reasons/justifications although I have no actual knowledge as to what the thinking was back when they started doing it. Wilder said in the post game he wanted to not disrespect VMI due to their proud heritage and so he put the 1st string out the start of the 2nd half per, "tradition" and then pulled them. As noted we started subbing in the first half, subbed everybody dressed in the 2nd half and eventually only ran the ball over the line.

Did Drayton Arnold play? And if not, I wonder why not? I would at least like to see him get some game time in.

Yes he and Fitzgerald rotated possessions. Had a nice pass over the middle to the TE that setup a Gieger td.

DA played. He mostly just handed off.
He went 1 for 2 for 21 yards passing and 1 carry for 2 yards rushing.
