Y'all did a great job of stopping our running game, till that last play.

Tough, head knocker of a game, as I expected. This UAB team is on a mission, though.

There's always next year.

Congrats on the win Blazers. This is a very young USM team that played hard, just not quite enough to pull out the W.

This reminds me of our old/early games in CUSA 1.0 - low scoring defensive games.

In our six home games at Legion Field, USM had the best defense and North Texas had the best offense.

Was that the game where UAB scored a late TD and were called for ineligible receiver downfield?

I was at that game. We also missed a couple of FG's I think. Barf.

I dare say if USM had played all year like they did last night, they'd be a lot better than 4-5. They came out of the tunnel with fire in their eyes and punched us in the mouth. I was proud of how we responded. Hell of a football game.

Had UAB not gotten cute with the trick play and resorted to running the football and punting, I think it would’ve ended 20-13. Both teams spent the last 5 minutes trying to give it away. The biggest headscratcher was all the downfield throws. Each team threw an interception on a deep ball very late when all they needed was a 10-15 yard pass to set up a FG.

If someone were to ask me which college football rivalry was the most underrated, I would look them in the eye & answer with utmost sincerity...UAB and Southern Miss. Because they battle like the Hatfields and the McCoys every time they play each other. I know there's still two weeks left in the regular season, but I honestly feel that in all the Conference USA Football games I've watched, my vote for C-USA Football Game Of The Year goes to that war I witnessed from the stands of Legion Field last night. Hopson has damn good reason to call fans out about not coming out to watch and support this team. Because they have heart, valor and are going to be a force in the conference for years to come. That defense put me in mind of that "Nasty Bunch" y'all had a few years ago.

Much respect and high regards for Southern Miss. You fans need to listen to Coach Hopson and fill up The Rock for those home games. This team is going to do right by the brand.

Yep. All of the Southern Miss fans agree with you. With 16 seconds left we should've trotted out our FG kicker to attempt a 53 yarder. Not guaranteed, but a lot more likely than our True Freshman QB throwing a long TD against your D.
