I trust this staff's ability to evaluate talent. If they want him then I fully trust he would be a productive player on the roster!

Gotta be able to go big at the point. Some big PGs these days ... Harris ??? If he's not hitting his shot ... Well, then he's really short. I'm thinking Brewton may ... well ... Let's hope Tyler hits half his threes and shows PG skills when he's over there. GO TIG s !!

ehh.. LSU starting PG is only 5' 10ish (was measured at 5' 9" in HS but listed at 5' 11"), size at that spot shouldn't be an issue

Agree guards like Brewton who back down and have post moves are rare these days. Having a height disadvantage on the perimeter is not as bad as it used to be defensively.

It hurts in the pick n roll where you cant switch under any circumstance. And remember how many pgs Antonio Anderson took out the game in tournament time? DJ Augustin, Collison, the texas A & M guard, the Michigan State guard. That is still a plus.

This team needs Harris starting basically cause they need someone with the balls to take those type of shots. I dont know if the small backcourt is a long term solution.

We will see a lot of what we saw last night. Our guards getting penetration and being guarded passively by big men who weren't worried about them because of their height advantage. It took Joe Jackson, Burks and even Rose a bit of time to come up with a gameplan for finishing; our guards are going to improve for sure.

One thing that I do hope for is that Lomax has his shot dismantled and put back together the same way that Burks and Jeremy Hunt's were. He needs to have his release point lowered to an inch above his head and slowed down a bit. I wish Cal would have done this with Antonio Anderson.

Use what you have. They are the most talented players we have. But hey, maybe A.Jones will come around.

The main thing is this kid has offers and interest from really good schools. I don’t think you can completely judge his shooting ability on a 2 minute video.

You are right that it is tough to judge in a to minute video.

But a highlight video that essentially shows no outside shots makes you think he didn't make many...I could be wrong

According to Hurd, he's a defensive monster - one of the best in HS in the country. No his shot is not there yet. But the reason everyone is offering is because of his defense and his athleticism.

Hurd also said he's the #3 senior in the metro area - behind Wiseman and Jeffries.

I don't think you have to "go big" in college. Too many recent exceptions that prove you don't. Heck, it almost worked at LSU with a couple of freshmen.

Harris will be fine - on the ball or off. But that doesn't mean he and Lomax won't need help. Penny loves the "3-guard" lineup. 1 Starter and also 2-3 rotation minutes available for Jones, Boyce, Wingett, Baugh - maybe Jeffries.

If he is a great defender...Sign him up.

There are tons of guys who strive to be scorers...Not nearly as many who strive to be great defenders.

Also it is much easier to run when you play good defense and are getting rebounds instead of trying to run after a made basket.

Lomax will get better about scoring - no doubt. But he's not going to be the shooter. And after playing for Penny for about 6 years already, I think A-Lo's shooting form is what it is.

He just has to develop a mid range jumper and floater. He is too small to drive and finish around the rim with layups. Once he develops those he will be fine. Joe Jackson had to do the same. If you notice Harris rarely tries to get to the rim but rather is almost always looking to pull up and shoot.

I like the idea that this kid it a good defender. Not raining on anyone’s parade, but I’m trying to figure out how he fits into a scheme that takes so many 3s. At some point don’t we need to get some guys that can shoot it?

Wingett and Harris can both shoot. I also think Jones will develop into a good shooter. Then you have DJ coming who shot 9-11 from 3 in his last game.
