Do you really want the players to have more time with the defensive coaches? Cut bad habits ASAP!
Well yeah, he isn't going to get fired. You can listen to Tim Lester every week and he doesn't put anything on his staff. So he's going to be here, and we need the practice.
What do you want Lester to say to the media? You really expect him to throw his coordinators under the bus on public media? Show me one sports coach that has ever done that.

I would hope Lester would never lower himself like Smith did.

That's a competitor right there. Wish I would see some competitiveness in Lester like that sometimes.

Since MSU, John L Smith's head coaching record is 25-51. He's 0-10 this season, including a close loss to Slippery Rock to start the season.
Maybe if he yells louder during press conferences his team will turn it around.

I don't know what John L. has to do with our football program, but he was bad at MSU.
And at Arkansas when he served as interim for a season following Bobby Petrino, who just got fired from Louisville.

Ball State is really, really, really struggling. I just learned they intercepted five passes against Toledo, and still lost 45-13. Three in the first half and one to start the second half. I have to think Mike Neu's career rests on this game right now. I know they've had a ton of injuries, but he is 3-19 in the MAC right now.
Man, we can't buy an interception, let alone two, or three, or four, or heck, why not five?

That's a crazy stat. Reminds me of another one from last week. Davidson ran for 789 yards against San Diego...and still lost 56-52.

I think we will have a hard time shutting down Gilbert, we had a hard time shutting him down in 2016, in the first half at least.
Load the box and make this inexperienced QB throw, but our wonderful DC will probably give them 10 yard cushion and then they will get big gains in the air.

Its ok, our terrible defense will allow them to have a coming out party and this game will be close like BGSU

We didn't have those cushions against Ohio, but I am entirely unfamiliar with Ball's receivers. None appear to be as good as Toledo's top three.

Watching them against NIU, I don't know how fast they are but they seemed to catch the ball when thrown to them, even in tight coverage - they seemed to come down with it annoyingly often. Though I doubt the new QB is as accurate as Riley Neil was.

RE: Biggest game of the year
If we lose this game, unless we'd beat NIU (no way; not with NIU seemingly having an offense that can be functional now) -- I don't want to see us go bowling to end up 6-7.
