I feel bad for the kid. Redshirt Frosh - first start i think. Bad offensive line against a defense that is the class of the conference. it wouldnt shock me if he develops over the next few years though.

And Ryland drills the field goal. All he needs is any form of pressure removed!

But seriously. I'm glad he's come out and redeemed himself. It's good to watch 2 go through the uprights at game speed.

I kind of thought the defense would dominate the Akron offense going into this. That's about what I was expecting.

Hope Vanns leg is not hurt too badly. It would be nice to see him get back for a bowl game considering he missed the last one. Mackey played at the very end of the game, he looks like a legit back.

Luckeyone, on second thought I cannot agree that Neathery deserves another 150K a year. He should be paid as much as we have and perhaps more.

Two defensive shutouts in a row cannot be ignored.

Frank, I cannot agree more. Kickers like putters in golf get the yips. Those two field goals were critical for his confidence and could pay off big in the future.

Nice victory. Is Akron that bad without their starting quarterback? I know quarterbacks are important, but even their running game was not very good.
I met Jerry Weaver at the game. It's always nice to meet fellow posters. It was great talking with him, and being able to put a face on someone that you might not ever see on this kind of forum.

Jerry, it's unfortunate and bittersweet in a way because now that EMU's defense has gone 8 qtrs without surrendering a TD, he's going to be noticed by a lot more schools.

I wonder what the record is at EMU for consecutive shut out quarters by the defense???
