Good article, but Goodman doesn't realize Thomas Johnston is the one playing defense and not Tyler.

I’ve tried correcting him, but he points to the stats from the box score that has Tyler making the tackles. They need to update the stats.

It is corrected now I think.

Apparently somewhere wires got crossed & Will Boler who also wears #17 was mistaken for the QB Johnston.

A few weeks ago at UTEP, they had Marino down for a few carries, instead of Lucious Stanley, who also wears #2.

Well this is obviously a travesty that needs to be corrected. Next time we are in a short yardage situation and the game isnt in doubt, we need to get Garrett Marino a carry.

He does have a carry for a TD IIRC

He has a fumble recovery and run for a TD, but I don’t think he has an offensive carry.

In two platoon football, I understand the NCAA allows the same number on two different players as long as they are not on the field at the same time. That is likely the source of such mixups. The same surname may just add to that.

Yeah, Clark is smart enough to make sure those numbers play on opposite sides of the ball unlike another coach I know. And there is no controversy. AJ has proven he's not a bum. He's a winner. And the other seniors like him should get some PT in this game too. But the better players should get the bulk of the playing time. If you are a tenth year senior and you're not great. You probably never will be.

Not a controversy at all in my mind. TJ is simply better. Let AJ start for senior night if he can, but TJ has looked night and day better than AJ.

I don't think it matters because, given what we ask of our quarterbacks, either of these guys could win the game today.

A.J. is a senior, and he damn well deserves to start. They'll both play. I trust Coach Clark to use them both wisely.

AJ deserves to start, but I think TJ should be our full time QB going forward.
