Exclamation WBB opener
Women hoops defeats Yale at home in first round of WNIT. Woods with 38/12. Will probably face Iowa State in second round.

If men can coach women's basketball could Lisa Carlsen coach our men's team? I am pretty sure she could do better than Patton or Monty. I suppose there are some guys that would never play for a woman but it would sure garner national attention and be fun to watch!

I agree, women's basketball definitely seems to be more of a "team" sport. Men's basketball seems to be more individual driven because of all the egos and players thinking they should be in the NBA or get the ball all the time. Our men's team needs to play with more of that "team" mentality.

This is absolutely true. Women's BB is my favorite sport at NIU and I am very proud to be a season ticketholder. The women truly play as a team and unselfishly so. They congratulate each other and root for each other and play with smiles on their faces. It is a joy to watch them, and my wife and I root so hard for them. After the game, the players come into the stands and high-five the fans and thank them for coming.

We live about 90 miles from DeKalb, so we can only attend the weekend men's and women's games, but we have season tickets for both. If we lived in DeKalb, we would be at all the games and events and thus feel even more a part of the team. The women's BB team is a wonderful group of ladies and superb and proud representatives of NIU.

The whole culture changed with Carlson. Glad to see SF extend her. What is great is the recruits that she has brought into the program and the support staff. This program will only get better. Plan to be at the IU game and both Ball State. It is the only program that the players go into the stands after the game and truly appreciate the fan support. It is the best show in Dekalb. Best of luck the rest of the season
