I like your prognosticating better than mine. I think Tulsa will be better this year than last year but still end up with the same regular season record, 8-4 !!! The only difference this year, instead of this year winning a couple of games with what would be considered a lot of things going your way(luck), Tulsa wins easily in those games. If they had a slightly better than average run defense, I might consider your prediction, especially before the season starts, but that run defense could be our downfall. I have no idea which 4 games we lose!!! :D

I agree that Tulsa has a decent chance of winning at OSU and the same thing at Kansas!!! 04-rock Our run defense will get tested early at Kansas, since they are mainly a running team. I would have just as soon started the season at OSU since they have more of a balanced attack. Against passing teams or teams that just pass more than they run , I think Tulsa has a pretty good chance. Unfortunately we scheduled Navy and Kansas OOC in the same season, then Rice in conference, so we will get tested!!

I'm a little late to the party, but after the first game lost to Kansas, I will agree 10-2 is a major possibility. I don't think we will beat OSux, however, Navy is totally winnable. We've had too much practice with Rice, but we are going to have to fight. Same with the Rice game this year. Boise St. @ home is totally winnable. I don't think Hawaii is balanced enough to beat Tulsa. I say worst case will be 9-3. One up on last year.

I think this game against Navy will have a lot to do with my projection for the rest of the year. If we continue are better than average defense, much better than I expected, and decide to also play a little offense, I will stick with my 8-4 record. If we lose to Navy, I think the season is kind of up in the air, especially if the offense doesn't show up very much!!!! I'm afraid I would have to pick Boise St and if we lose to Navy, I would rate every other game this year 50-50 at best---which probably wouldn't equal 8-4!!

Now that the Navy game is over my projections have really changed. One game with no offense could be a fluke but three straight games without an offense, becomes more of a reality. One change I might consider now, is letting Paul Smith play the rest of the year IF they haven't planned on red shirting him??? I am by no means blaming Killian for all the offenses problems at all, just that it may be time to get ready for next year!! SMS might very well be the straw that broke the proverbial camels back and then we can look forward to Nov. 6th and SMU for our only salvation this year, hopefully. My new projection is 3-9 with some luck!!! :bang: You have to score to win any game and if you can't score against Navy's defense at home, three wins maybe wishful thinking!!!!

I blame Charlie Stubbs for the offensive woes. The play calling this season has been HORRIBLE. We were thinking that the vanilla, conservative, "one yard and a cloud of dust" stuff the first two games was to keep us healthy and not show too much for conference play. Nope... more of the same against Navy.

Hey, Stubbs! Can you call that toss sweep for the 417th time? Now that Navy is back in Annapolis, we might get three yards out of it this time.

We're not aggressive on offense. We try to run the ball and can't get it going. So use the pass to set up the run, right? Problem is that most of our passing game is based on misdirection and play-action.

Time to line up and send everybody down field. Throw the friggin' ball!!!!! Not two yard dumps, but down the field. Then, come back with the run.

This is looking like a lost season if Stubbs doesn't pull his head out.

I must admit I had some high hopes for football this year, especially since I don't have much hope for basketballl. I guess I was relying on football for my sports enjoyment this year!! Tulsa threw the ball down the field many times last year and had some long gains and TD's. Maybe that was when they thought they had nothing to lose with that team----now they think they are a bowl team and have to play like Ohio St. I hope they go back to figuring they have nothing to lose, because they don't , and open it up. Play the shotgun formation with at least 3, 4 or 5 receivers and spread out the defense, maybe they could run sometimes with the defense spread out. Whatever they are doing on offense they better be doing the opposite because this A'INT WORKING!!!! :bang:

The 2nd half sounded great, but my optimism will be tempered until they do it against a 1A team??? Hawaii is a good team to open it up against because Hawaii will score some points, so let's hope the 2nd half carries over to next week!! 04-cheers

Obviously the 2nd half didn't carry over to the Hawaii game!! :crying: This season could get a little ugly because some games I had in the win column are looking a little shakey, like SJSU and SMU. Unless our offense, some how, shows up pretty quick-----this could be a real ugly season. At least we can't lose this weekend but then Boise St needs big margins of victory to impress the pollsters and Tulsa might find out that the Hawaii score looked pretty good!! SMU played Boise St pretty good in Boise, so they don't look like a cake walk any more and SJSU scored 70 points against Rice which means, I think, they scored more points in one game than we have all year against D-1 opponents. Could we be back to a 1-11 record with no D-1 wins????

The biggest question in my mind is... will we have the heart to play hard the rest of the season after starting 1-5? (after losing to Boise)

Things could go either way in every one of our final six games. We could win or lose every one of those games. Do we play hard and build for next season or not?

i think we win 2 more games then roll over and die. And look on the Bright Side we get to keep coach K.

The next game will be upset city! One week off will give us time to prepare. The color of our turf will dazzle their eyes.
