Rice vs. Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Tech must win to have any hope of catching UAB in the West. They should be focused. We are who we are. Any thoughts? Predictions? Lets not give up on this season.

I'm just a guy with an ESPN+ account, but I just don't think Stankavage returning to the field solves any problem we have (and I think Green is a better QB). I believe Bloom is a smart guy, so there must be something we don't know that makes Stankavage the better choice than burning Green's red shirt. That said, disappointment happens when hope collides with reality.

LaTech 31-6.

Maybe the difference is Stank's sublime leadership

Bloom is smart, but we just don't know his goals and motivation for this game. Is it to win this game, or to prepare for 2019?

I'll be there, with The MOB, for our first full-uniform event.
"Sunny, with a high near 49. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph."
If the sky is clear, expect the temp to drop quickly after sundown.
Might be the first game this season where everyone on the field isn't struggling with dehydration and cramps.

Prediction: The MOB will be there to support the team and fans from well before the game until well after.
We show up early.
We make noise.
We stay beyond 00:00.

I think the difference between Stankavage and Green today is likely less than the difference between Green today and Green in a year, much less 4...

but I'd like to think that in the next 4 years, we recruit an even better qb.... hopefully 2-3

Perhaps that's what concerns me.

Hate to be a downer, but there is no reason to believe that until we win consistently against some of the better teams we play - other than blind luck - that we will get a better QB recruit than what we currently have when you simply look at what they were coming out of HS (when you have to evaluate and recruit them). To get there, we better figure out how to win with the types of QBs we have/are likely to get. The 2019 commit looks exactly like what we already have - they all have some good qualities, some average or below average qualities, and few other D1 schools (or no others) want them.

I think a vastly improved OL and defensive backfield would be more important to creating future wins than merely a better QB.

Exactly. Quit trying to be Stanford. Generally, our players aren't any worse than most of the other teams in CUSA. UAB was good and SoMiss had speed but should've beat UTSA, FIU and UTEP at a minimum. Even Wake Forest and N.TX could've been wins with better coaching and fewer penalties.

We probably shouldn't be worried about the quality of our QB. Bloom made it clear several weeks ago that "he" has been successful with good QB's like Andrew Luck and "he" has had conference championships with bad QB play. Beginning to realize that it makes no difference who is playing for the Owls. Sith Lord Darth Bloomgren will use his powers of fear to impose his will over his enemies.

OT, but midway through the article on the Steelers, Tomlinson talks about radically changing his defense to suit the personnel (what a concept) and drafting Conner when he was thought to be high risk.

Bloom may have a point. He used, in your terms a Junior High caliber QB to play against a competitive FIU team and "his" offense was moving the ball.

4 years

I see what you did there... but I hope that he's the 2nd or 3rd better QB... he's already 'better'

Don't disagree. A better line is the key... makes everyone else better and good QBs don't want to play behind poor lines.
