Curmudgeon Jim Boeheim coming to Greensboro
GREENSBORO — Maybe Jim Boeheim is ready to bury the hatchet.

Or maybe his sharp-worded feud with Greensboro was mostly an act to begin with.

Either way, the Hall of Fame basketball coach and bespectacled face of Syracuse University will be the guest speaker at the 2019 Fred Barakat Sports Dinner next spring.

“I know Greensboro’s mad at me, and I’m trying to rectify that,” Boeheim told the David Glenn Show last month in Charlotte. “I like Greensboro. I just think the tournament should be in a big city, but that’s just me. I could be wrong.”

Boeheim is a good guy, but he has always had a sarcastic side. He is a good guy though. He came from the bottom up. Nothing came easy for him.

I'll buy him a Bojangles chicken biscuit when he comes down.

I love how people have no problem ripping on a rustbelt city (which happens a lot) yet they go completely ape poop when someone from the rustbelt takes a little dig at a southern city.

Just messing with you since you were using the, "yea but" observation.

His point is still valid. He (Boeheim) is also right about this tournament best served in a big city locale

Everybody gets their feeling hurt and everybody uses the "what about / yea but" defense. I say we all go get a biscuit on me and build a bridge. 04-cheers

I’ve heard that too. I’m hoping at some point I get a chance to try them.

The chicken has been very hit or miss...a lot depends on the staff. I've been to a few restaurants staffed by a bunch of kids who didn't give a crap and the food was not very good. I tend to find Zaxby's way more consistent although not quite the same chicken as Bo's.

A restaurant is only as good as the most recent punk kid hired to work there. 07-coffee3
