I know we’re protecting starters right now, but geeeeez that’s a horrible rotation. We went from being up by 5-7 to now lost all momentum and letting Stanford build confidence by tying the game. This group plays zero cohesive defense.

We were killing them with our starting 5 and then Cacok fouls 2x and Fornes 2x and we can't score.

Welp. That’s what happens when you put in a group together that plays no defense and aren’t scorers. Get the starters back in and implore them not to foul. It was quite clear Stanford can’t hang with our starters. Letting them back in the game and then getting into a 6 pt hole is unacceptable.

I support McGrath 100% but I can’t agree with his decision to sit Cacok, our best player and difference maker on both ends, for the last 14 minutes of the first half. Since he left the game we went from a lead with Stanford struggling to deal with us to losing by 15 to close the half and making a comeback win quite difficult. That to me is on the coach.

Be smart. Grab Cacok by the jersey and tell him to play smart and don’t foul. Just his presence in the game and I think if we’re trailing at the half it would be by 5-7 points, not bloody 15.

I’m kinda furious watching that.

I agree about Cacok sitting down killing us. And, Fornes not playing killed us. Ty can't hit anything tonight and without the stars the young guys weren't ready. They're bigs can put it on the floor and score one on one...that's the difference. The zone looked bad so I can see why he plays man.

He went to zone with our primarily bench players. I’m not saying they’re not as good at the zone but the zone helps protect from fouls. If you’re gonna go to zone on defense, at least put your starters in for their offense.

Playing zone with Cylla, Elmore, Sims, etc isn’t going to give us the best sample for if zone works or doesn’t work.

That first half to me was 100% on coaching. I would have been okay going into the half trailing, but not by 15 when we controlled Stanford on both ends of the floor for the first 10-11 minutes of the game.
