Every team in the West has at least 4 losses. It's hard to see any of the top 3 in the east losing 2 more games and winning the East.

I suppose the best hope is that Troy wins the East and that their loss to Liberty hurts them.

The loss to Liberty will not affect the host site. Remember the first determinant is conference win %. No one from the West will catch Troy's win %. Even if ULM and Troy are the reps at 6-2, Troy's win over ULM gives it to them.

Best chance for the West is for GS and ULM to be the reps at 6-2. This would happen if GS and App State beat Troy, GS and App State each lose another game, AND ULM wins out. Not happening.

The SBC championship game will be in either Troy, Statesboro or Boone
The west has almost no shot.

It’ll be in Troy and somehow it’ll be A-State from the East.

I'll be honest, it would not completely surprise me if this happened.

Well yeah there's a scenario in which it could happen.

ULM would have to win out.
Troy would have to lose out.
Georgia Southern would have to lose at least one more game.
App would probably have to lose to both TXST and GSU then beat Troy.

So about a 0.005% chance the west hosts?

There is actually a crazy scenario where Louisiana could still host. This would require 6 upsets according to FPI, including Texas State beating App State and Troy.

Louisiana would host if:

1. They win out.
2. Troy loses out.
3. App State loses to Texas State and Georgia State but beats Troy.
4. Georgia Southern beats Troy but loses to Coastal and Georgia State.
5. Louisiana's computer ranking is higher than Georgia Southern's.

Georgia Southern, Troy, and App State would all be 5-3. Georgia Southern would win the tiebreaker due to their 2-0 record against the other 2.

Louisiana and Georgia Southern would have matching 5-3 conference records and do not play head-to-head, so the host would be the team with the higher computer ranking.

After all that, Louisiana would probably STILL miss out due to having a lower computer ranking than GS, but it's theoretically possible.



No such scenario exists for Arkansas State, by the way. Only ULM and Louisiana can theoretically host.

Texas state beats Troy
Troy beats app

Or the first two plus app beating Troy and Texas state or gsu beating app

Gs app Troy and ulm all go 6-2 in league. Gs wins east tiebreaker. Ulm wins west and hosts based on head to head win against southern

App's QB, RB and Center (put that in for the Arkansas State fans) all suffer season ending injury and Lunsford deciding that Georgia Southern is going to implement a pro-style offense and upgrade their yellow school buses effective this Saturday.

Welp. There goes that. You just jinxed us and we will lost to both Southern and App now and will definitely not be hosting the conference championship. So much bad juju you just placed on us.

AState can host if App, Southern, and Troy all have to forfeit multiple games for using ineligible players...
