All rankings systems are worthless 2 games into the season.
Give it time, we will be in the middle 100’s where we will stay most of the year.
It is what it is.

We were 64 last year in Kenpom.

That’s because we were a better team last year? I’m unsure of your point....we will not finish anywhere near 64 this year, guaranteed.
Trey and Brandan aren’t walking out that door.

RE: ODU @ St. Joe's
I an not disappointed about the outcome. I have been a huge proponent of playing a tough schedule in the OOC. This was a very important game, with a win or a loss. If we want the team clicking at the right time, they need to be thrown into the fire. I am really impressed with the freshman.
One more thing....I said this at the very beginning of the season, but if Aaron Carver continues to get starter minutes, we are in big trouble. You can disagree all you want, but there is no way we can function as an offense having Carver on the floor. Love the guy, and he is a great competitor, but he is a hole on the offensive end.

That's how I'm starting to feel about Robinson as well...

You're not wrong. Ezipke is going to have to get the starter minutes if we are going to be good by the end of the year.

Agree 100%. I like Carver as well, but I have to believe that if Ezikpe were given most of those minutes, then he would be much better than Carver by year end. I am sure he would make some freshman mistakes but his upside is so much better. Carver would make a great sub for 10 minutes or so off the bench. We are going to take some lumps along the way, it might as well be with our freshman.

And while I agree the refs didn’t do us any favors I don’t think the game was close enough for that to matter. Overall it did look like more of the same - a dearth of offense for much of the game. We haven’t been able to really overcome those offensive struggles since T Freeman was here. The upside here still looks amazing but we need to put this together quickly before our non-conference schedule gets away from us and we lose all hope of those much needed quality wins.
I am willing to wait on Robinson but I have never been impressed. We rebounded ok as a team but it is certainly surprising that robinson got zero. Hes just too slow. He does have some post moves and can score in the paint on post ups, but thats not out game and its not the college game at all. Play more Dickens with the drbble drive offense and. Ot worry about post ups.
We shot well from 3 but our issue offensively was when we didnt shoot threes we didnt effectively drive to basket. Caver was the only one drawing free throws (11 total, 8 from him). Our guys are out of control and theow up off balance layups instead of going up strong and drawing fouls. Godwin isnt gonna draw fouls but we need guys like BJ, Green, and Kithcart (if healthy) to do so when driving to the hole.
Offense was not great but weve won plenty of games with .94 ppp. Defense was a pathetic. Way too many easy lanes to the basket. Help defense was poor. Im hoping that is just the bigs learning rotations.
Marshall will destroy us with the defense we played last night.
St Joes is probably better than Marshall. They actually play defense and have bigs.
Your hatred for teams that emphasize offense is showing.

St Joes is a borderline NCAA tourney team that is expected to be top 4 in the A-10. Marshall was the 4th best team in CUSA last year, but got hot in the CUSA tourney. They are picked 2nd in CUSA and not expected to be on the tourney bubble.
Last year Marshall was 105 in Ken Pom and St. Joes was 116. Marshall lost Penava and has a couple minor additions. St. Joes has some major players returning (and incoming freshman)
St. Joes just put on an offensive clinic vs. us while Marshall is at 1.07 ppp thru 2 games. How does that statement have anything to do with teams "emphasizing offense?" St. Joes is likely better than Marshall this year.

You're suggesting they aren't a bubble team because they lost a game? Cmon man, you're better than this right? Think that's more a story of UCF crapping the bed against a FAU team then taking care of business as they were predicted to win the AAC.

UCF was a 21.5 point favorite. Of course you are using logic.

Wait, you’re using Vegas gambling lines to try and make a point?
WOW.
