9 minutes for Porter last night too. Musselman (maybe because he's only about four feet tall) loves to play small ball and it's killing Trey's PT.
I can't help but think we'd be pretty freakin' good with Trey Porter on this team, but I suppose Trey doesn't hate being on an undefeated Top 10 team.

Nevada actually starts 4 6-7 guys and Porter. They usually pull Porter at the 16 min mark and insert the 5-10 PG. they really play better without Porter.
Brown use to get Porters minutes but now it’s the PG. no way NBA looks at him with these stats - 6ppg 4 rbg

Something tells me he didnt go there to sit in bench.
Would you rather rode pine on a tourney team or possibly be conference player of the year elsewhere?

I don't know what that means, but he's averaging 2.8 points and 3 rebounds per game.

These guys have massive egos. He didn't transfer to sit on the bench. He thought he would go there and become the star while competing for a national championship. I doubt it is working out as he thought.

Stars become stars due to tremendous physical, mental and emotional gifts. Porter is one-third of a star.

It's just a guy trying to maximize his potential. Sure, it's more challenging to get the starting minutes and playing time on a Top 25 caliber team, but he went for it. Sure beats being the best player in a conference that nobody talks about, who holds their championship game in an empty nfl practice arena, and who will not get a lick of live tv time on any major network. Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt the continued salt over a guy transferring away (who transferred here, btw). Get over it?

Exactly. If they go back to the Elite 8, who in their right mind wouldn't understand that to be a desirable experience?

You're absolutely right. He had a chance to leave for a bigger program, with the hopes of getting more exposure, better quality PT against better opponents, and, of course, experience the NCAA tourney. Unfortunately for him, like in Vegas, his bet isn't paying off (as of now).
Is he "experiencing" a better league, better opponents, with a larger program...yes. If that was his reasoning to transfer there, then it's a complete success. However, if you were trying to get better looks/exposure to play professionally, you won't get that with low PT. I remember listening to Twardzik (can't remember which broadcast) talking about his time doing NBA scouting. He mentioned that if you were good enough, it did not matter which school you came from, scouts would come find you. However, it becomes hard when you aren't getting the PT to put up those notable stats.

The only comments I’ve read on here are people saying it’s hasnt worked out for him for what he was looking for, as far as trying to maximize potential and exposure- so far. Porter has been in the dog house and not getting much exposure.
Seems to me you are the only one with a problem. Get over it, people are aloud to follow him.

Are you saying he has been in the Nev doghouse or that people here are saying he's been in the doghouse? Obviously, there's a huge difference.

I would never argue this point with you. My comment was only out of frustration about watching someone with such a gift piss it away due to what seems to be a lack of character. I am in his corner to turn it around and do well in life.

And to add...I agree that wanting to go to a place where you can experience the Elite 8 (or better) would be a great way to end your college career...and I don't think anyone on this board (maybe/maybe not) would argue that point. HOWEVER, if your purpose for going to another program was to better your chances/prospects/etc. professionally, I would argue that it did not work out for him. Regardless, echoing Munson, I wish the best for him and hope he does well (in all aspects of life) moving forward after this season.
