It's important that our players do realize what needs to be done to make this a better team. Good to hear them address that.
Also, it means a great deal for a PAC-12 coach to complement our crowd and environment. Would love to see that continue to grow to where we were in the "good ole days". Hope our fans don't give up on making The Dub the toughest place to play in the CAA again.

All I'll say is I hope we make some tremendous strides when it comes to life with Devontae Cacok. I very much hope what we saw last night isn't a future glimpse of what we'll look like after he graduates. I'm sure we won't, but it was disconcerting to say the least.

RE: Stanford - 11/9 - CAA.TV
I cannot yet see how we get to CAA championship level and NCAA tournament bound with our current style of play(and that should be the goal).

Our whole game, offense and defense, is predictable and easy to make adjustments to for opposing coaches. We don't force the other team to do anything special and nothing changes the whole game.

I'm trying to figure out why there are no back door cuts and alley oop dunks available for Cacok like we've seen before? Since we obviously thrive in open court, fast paced situations, why aren't we pressing on made baskets 5-7 times a game just to throw off the otherr team? How about a token press to force them to play quicker once they get on offense? Traps, high picks, all sorts of things are available to throw the other team off.

It looks to me like we are going to line them up, do the same thing over and over, and hope we play better. We don't do anything to force turnovers, but manage to get turned over a lot.

IMO, the talent we have on the floor is enough to compete at the top of the CAA, but the style of play isn't going to get us there. I simply cannot imagine how we will even be competitive once Cacok is gone.

Hope like hell that Marten Linssen can fill his shoes?

No one is going to fill Devontae's shoes - it will take two or three guys combined to equal his stats.

Ok, hope like hell that Linssen and those two incoming big guys can fill his shoes?

But in all seriousness, it is way too early to be thinking about next season through 2 games. Enjoy watching Cacok in a Seahawk uniform while you can.

I don’t quite get his lineup, same thing happened at Campbell. I understand it’s early and you are trying to figure things out but if something isn’t working, abort abort!

We had Fornes, Cacok, and Jacque with two fouls each. They had to sit and Taylor was 0-6 at that point so I think that also led to the line up being essentially without an offensive producer
Not at Campbell we didn't

You guys make too much out of it. Stanford is a BEAST defensively period. Easily the best we will face all year.

I mean I think we’re playing a team in Chapel Hill on December 5th but to each their own

Oh, I know. I just think that the Cardinal is slightly better defensively but I could be wrong. UNC is awesome and has way more offense than Stanford. The Cardinal needs to stop people or they're not going to win. UNC can just outscore you so I think that plays into a bit. We shall see. They play soon. UNC is going to beat them and we will see how they defend at that time.

Duke looked unstoppable, but if anyone can beat them, it's UNC. That should be a really good game to watch.

RE: Stanford - 11/9 - CAA.TV
Late to the party, but enjoyed a weekend in WB after the game Friday night... So I thought that McGrath not going back to Devontae in the 1st half was clearly a punishment. We were up 19-11, the crowd was really into it, you can't pick up your second foul reaching in at the 3 point line like he did. He's our senior leader, those mistakes can't happen going forward. McGrath can afford to send that message now. Other than that, really liked the effort we played with in the 2nd half, some shots that usually fall didn't tonight and we came up short. Only thing that really concerned me were the turnovers, but it's early in the season. I think we'll figure it out soon.
