Well, the transformation is now complete, we are officially a football school (lol). 19th in the AP football poll and not one vote in the bb poll, in fact, no one in our league got a single vote. So SAD.

The problem with our league is the dead weight teams always dragging us down. We need to just cut the fat (ECU, Tulsa, Tulane) and become a leaner/meaner league.

Maybe we can replace Mick with Jay Wright who needs to be fired after #8 Villanova was down to Michigan at home 44-17 at half and then Lost 73-46. :)

Probably not, but we can dream. More a post about the sky is falling fans after one bad game. It happens to everyone.

Sadly It’s a terrible hoops conference. Much better in football. None of the basketball programs in the league including UC push the needle at all. We’ve had chances but blown them in March. It desperately needs UCONN to make a come back.

True, if Villanova fans are anything like our Bearcat fans, they're probably arranging Wright's buyout as we speak.

Here is what you fail to understand. This isn't a knee jerk reaction to one game, this is a cumulative effect from the past 13 years. We are tired of the same old results and same style of basketball that can't seem to get us over the hump, and Mick doesn't seems too interested in making adjustments to it.

Villanova may have a down year this year, but I guarantee you by March Jay Wright will have them be a legitimate final 4 contender. Can we honestly say the same about Mick's team? Plus I think it's safe to say, that Jay has earned him some collateral.

Agree. We are projecting 2 bids....that has mid major written all over it.

Power conferences are getting four to eight bids. We aren't in that league. We should be, but we aren't.

When we formed, I figured UC, Memphis, UCONN, Temple would all be ncaa regulars and so we would get four bids a year with some years up to 6. Hasn't happened.

Hopefully Hurley gets UCONN back to form and Penny can help Memphis. I believe this is the last year for old man Dunphy and Aaron Mckie is coming in after him so maybe Temple gets back on track soon.

Penders is doing a nice job at UH and the same with Dawkins at UCF but these these schools do not have a name in hoops so they have to be the 'extras'. If they are the best we have, and they may be this year, perception of the conference takes a big hit.

Big East off to a shaky start.

Providence lost to a down Wichita.
Xavier lost at home to Wisconsin.
Seton Hall got killed by Nebraska.
Villanova got killed by Michigan at home.
Ranked Marquette got blown out by Indiana.

Not bad losses by any stretch, but the lack of competitiveness could be a little telling.

Even if a down year, I will still have to argue with delusional XU fans that this version of the Big East isn't as good as when UC was still in the Big East. Seriously, I have a few XU buddies that argue this every year and there is no argument that can convince them otherwise. One even tries to argue that the new Big East is better than the original...LOL.

If UC had won two of the last three national championships I wouldn't give a rat's ass about how terrible we've looked on offense.

Not all situations are created equally. There is nuance to everything. But nobody ever wants to admit it because it only makes the unexplainable even more impossible to explain.

Nebraska is really good. Vegas keeps sleeping on them and I keep cashing. Nov-Dec college basketball is the only time i'm dumb enough to wager my hard earned money on sports...Because it's basically free money. Of course, it took me a while to figure that out.

IU is good too. They have their guy with Archie.

Those X fans you referenced truly are delusional. You can't replace national title winners UCONN, Syracuse and Louisville with Creighton, Butler and X and suggest otherwise. Then delete Notre Dame, Pitt, WVU and Cincy and see what's left.

Villanova has an outstanding coach who has really done a fine job. Georgetown and Marquette are living on past glory. And the rest? Some good; none great. Without Villanova, postseason results would be rather mid-major since the split.
