Weird... Money may improve but that school is not easy to win at. NC State is a far more stable place. You can also win 9 or 10 in the ACC NOW... Clemson isn't really beatsble but NC State isn't really in it to win the division. Winning bowls is good enough.

What?? That would be weird as heck (although things like that happen at times). If Kansas can attract another winning P5 HC, that would amaze me. Don't do it Dave.

The argument on the 'Clemson barrier' is so silly considering Kansas has Oklahoma and Texas...

Two other MAC head coaches on this list and no sign of Carey....but his record is so good!

I doubt Doeren would leave for Kansas, NCSt is a much better job than Kansas.

Don't do it, Dave. KU football is a graveyard.

I'd be surprised..... just from the standpoint of his family. I think his kids are close to that junior high age.

Unless he wants out of NCST, DD's not going anywhere.

Another article from KU Sports: http://www2.kusports.com/news/2018/nov/0...s-next-he/

Kansas is very unlikely to pay the $6 million NC State buy-out (on top of the 1 year salary they will paying the fired coach), and some of the comments reflect what others have said here; it would not make any sense.

Has to be KU, right? Other than the 1-2 good years that VERY large man had there? (which is when we scheduled the 1-1 with them), they've been awful?

Feels like Minnesota is at least making bowl games every other year?

I didn't look at any numbers, that's just my feel.

Bigger graveyard? The snarky answer is former KU HC Charlie Weis needing a double-wide "plot"......

I'd agree. Minny feels like a tease/career killer. every coach comes in, installs their system, it starts to run smoothly and then BOOM it implodes.

My guess, PJ is successful at Minnesota eventually winning the Big 10, 11, 12, 13 or whatever they are these days championship and Doeren stays at NC State.

Yes, we have a winner. He did the same thing a few years back with Tennessee and that HC job is a lot more attractive then Kansas.

Don’t jump to any conclusions. A guy wrote a newspaper column and threw 10 names out there. I suspect they are no more meaningful than if they had been pulled out of a hat. It doesn’t mean that the school or DD have any interest in the other. Slow the roll.

Kansas is still a career killer. Basically Kansas gave themselves the death penalty through incredible mismanagement. When Beaty took over they only had 38 scholarship players. After several years' effort they've gotten it back to 68, still well short of the 85 needed to compete. It will take years to get back to 85 and even then it might not be a "good" 85. The next coach is guaranteed to fail and good candidates are going to recognize that and say no thanks. They should have left Beaty there for a few more years and then hired someone new.

Yeah the program’s terrible but wasn’t Doeren born and raised in Kansas? Of course waiting for Snyder to leave K-State seems like a better idea.
