That article is too reaching for straws for my liking to have something to factually back up her claim that he is out and getting a buyout.

What a screwed up mess. In all seriousness, the problems ECU faces can be traced back to UNC trying to run the show for the entire state university system.

So why don't ECU, NC State, Charlotte and App State band together to end the powder blue reign of error?

We are all part of the University of North Carolina System. They govern all the universities in the state. And, in that regard, a lot of the political positions of power in the state legislature and runners of that system have direct UNC Chapel Hill ties.

Two different sounding shows on the issue at hand. Either way you lean, the spin and damage control can't be discounted.

Isn't the head of the UNC BOG a Pirate alumni?

So we could be 2 months away from having...no Chancellor, no AD, no women's basketball coach, no football coach, and nobody in the entire AD's office (both Benegar and Workman gone). AWESOME! ECU to the top!

Yes, Harry Smith is an ECU guy.

This is like 2002-2005 all over again. I don't know if it's worse or not since conference realignment isn't actively happening (right now), but I don't know how it could get much worse.

We have to stop doing things like this.

I don't think that holds true anymore. It certainly use to be the case but the state legislators since the GOP took over in 2011 are an entirely different bunch. Many of them are transplants with no real historical perspective (for better or worse), ties or interest in the UNC System other than how it can be manipulated to advance their objectives.

Just don't click on an obvious ECU centered thread and it will be just like it isn't even here. 07-coffee3
