Sure he will, just like any other G5 coach will and has done.

I’d say yes and no. I think Clark stays a few years at least until we play our first game in the new stadium.

He had offers to leave after we **** down but he stuck with us.

That being said I hope he stays and tries to make a Boise but I can’t blame him if he leaves for a good P5 program.

I don’t think he leaves for a middling p5.

Spoken like every fan of a G5 team whose coach leaves for a low level ACC school.

They put their money where there mouth was and put pressure on those in power to do the right things and actually care about their football success. They also have a good coach that knows what he's doing. They were also able to recruit non-qualifiers for two years as they rebuilt their program.

Like it or not, they have more money and fan support than we do right now, but they also have more competence and drive in their athletic administration than we've had in twenty-five years.

Competence in our athletic department is questionable. The forces that shut us down are not happy we came back... They also got rid of some loyalist this summer. We are by no means out of danger from outside forces and influences. The competence begins and ends with the coaches, fans, and specifically major donors that got us back with major donations.

BTW, never consider shutting your program down even in jest. It sucks.

Believe it or not, but there is an amendment to the Alabama Constitution to protect the current make up of the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees. Including to eliminate the State Education Superintendent from the Board. Can’t make this crap up.

We were twice as talented as UAB last year and they wiped the floor with us.

There were a few games in our recent run of victories over USM that stand out - especially the win in 2011 (I think) when you guys were ranked and set up for a major bowl game. We had a pretty below average team, and you would have thought we would have gotten whipped. BUT, somehow we won at home, ruined your chances at a major bowl (and probably cost ourselves and our conference a fortune).

Bringing it around to this week. I am worried about this game because you guys are set up to mess up our great run. And while we have the better team right now, you are certainly good enough to catch us on a given day and make life hard for us.

Here's to continuing to build our rivalry! 04-cheers

Started up 14-0 and fell apart. Didn't help that one of our best players was out because the game was on a Thursday and he was still recovering from a leg injury that would have been fine on Saturday.

But yeah, we blew that game so bad.

Clark has only coached against you twice. The rest of those wins belong to a couple of objectively terrible coaches, Neil Callaway and Garrick McGee.

I think 70-14 wrecked your football karma, at least as far as UAB is concerned.

After moving to Alabama, I learned that this state’s politics makes Mississippi’s look good.

Clark comes across as the kind of man that would rather have a legacy than chase a paycheck. The key is going to be his wife. If she's happy with the paycheck and the city he may stay here for a long time. Gene Bartow was in talks with Kentucky and verbally signed a contract with them until he told his wife about it and she told him no. He very well may leave after this year. For now, we just enjoy the ride. We owe Clark our football team and our athletic department. We aren't playing football today if he takes another job in 2015. The sign of a good football coach is one that leaves the program in better shape than when he started and that is going to be a resounding yes.

It doesn’t hurt that UAB has a bunch of 24 year old seniors.

UAB 45-10. Abraham enters the game in the 3rd quarter when the defense is completely gassed.

Gonna be about 40 degrees at the game...not exactly prime football weather for any USM teams....so we might need Abraham, Martin AND John...04-cheers

And reports out that UAB just extended their football coach Bill Clark's contract making him the highest paid coach in CUSA. 5 year deal starting at $1.45 mil a year and reaching $1.65 mil a year in year 5.

Two years from now...Hop takes D-Coordinator position for UAB making twice his salary. UAB is invited to the AAC. Dawson becomes head coach. 0-12 season. William Carey has a three-year win streak vs USM. A Reed Green maintenance worker reports a leak and mold is found. He cries in to his pillow at night along with the rest of us.

No, that would be the south endzone expansion.

U-Aye-Bay just had their TTT moment at Middle Tenn., and I've seen it a brazillion times:

USM/Houston/UAB (team name really doesn't matter) reels off an impressive win streak; fans, alumni , team feel great about themselves; but now they have the bullseye on them, and they weren't really THAT much better than anyone else.

CRAAASSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

FAU thought they had the TTT beat this year, North Texas thought they did, too; but it's hard to play EVERY game full-tilt, much less continue it into another season.

That's what makes UCF's streak pretty dang amazin', no one has bushwacked them when they've had an "off" game..

But UAB can redeem themselves IMO with a win in tomorrow's championship game against that same MTSU team at MTSU again nonetheless.

And I'm sure teams have been saying it for the last 1.5 years but will be interesting tomorrow to see how UCF does without their stud QB vs Memphis. In the earlier matchup this season Memphis had a 14 point 4th quarter lead at home but blew it. What scares me is Memphis beating them and then we end up without a bowl game.
