The constant flood of letters with heartfelt pleas was just too overwhelming...

The visual of the empty stadium at SMU was appalling. Their stadium was empty.

It was more empty than it looked on TV, just FYI.

The bag was only necessary when grandpa clown ran the show. No bag needed with Coach Fick.

A contributing factor apparently is the presence of Tulane, Tulsa and ECU. It was a mistake to add them to this conference and now it is showing in the pocketbook. Apparently, the AAC has looked at alternative broadcast partners, including Facebook and Amazon, but that is a dangerous game as it potentially removes the conference entirely from traditional broadcast carriers, such as ESPN or Fox Sports. At this point, the conference might be required to accept a low ball offer from ESPN in order to remain a visible entity. We apparently are not in a very strong negotiating position, notwithstanding the very respectable level of football and basketball being played by member institutions (a few obvious exceptions aside).

Nothing in these articles directly related, but the theme seems to be that FOX will be investing heavily and concentrating on their live tv and sports platforms. Buying back the RSN's seems to be an interesting move. Perhaps we will see them jump into the College conference TV negotiations with both feet?

It's going to be in NYC for ND/Syracuse at Yankee Stadium. ZERO chance it isn't. Sad but true tale, they will continue to bury the G5.

Yeah - being at that game, I think there were more fans on the hillside under the scoreboard than in the stands. I think I went to MTSU games in Murfreesboro with more fans.

I don't understand why it is so sparse. The Dallas Metroplex has nearly 8M people. Gerald Ford looks like a nice stadium and I hear there is some good tailgating down there. I get it they are not the Longhorns or the Aggies, but you'd figure they could get 15-20K people to show up for a game on what was a beautiful day.

Doesn't it also have around 10 regional campuses? UC has two-- if we had eight more regional campuses we'd be pushing 60,000 students as well.

This is where they'll go.

Gameday will never be in Orlando...except for a Citrus Bowl or neutral site game between P5 teams.
