MY LINE: UAB 30-24 USM has disappointed me of late and I am trying not to get blinded buy UAB's offensive output last week against UTSA. I expect a tight game.

Week 11 is this weekend so here are my picks. Tough weekend last time, hope for better results.

N. Texas 7-2 (3-2) @ Old Dominion 2-7 (1-5) - North Texas has been one of the more steady teams this fall while ODU has been up and down beating Virginia Tech and losing by 42 to Liberty in the same season. I have to go with the visiting Eagles.

Charlotte 4-5 (3-2) @ Marshall 5-3 (3-2) - The 49ers kept the trip to Rocky Top at a respectable level while the Herd despite allowing only 226 total yards lost a tight one in Hattiesburg. Give me Marshall at home but Charlotte could make this interesting.

Middle Tenn 6-3 (5-1) @ UTEP 1-8 (1-4) - The Miners tasted victory after a long drought and host the Blue Raiders who dominated the hapless Hilltoppers. Look for MTSU to win a tight one, UTEP is on the rise, we hope.

Western KY 1-8 (0-5) @ Florida Atl. 4-5 (2-3) - The Boca Raton Owls made easy work of a pretty soild FIU team and now they face a WKU team that seems to just be thinking of a new staff. Look for FAU to win this one pretty easy.

Rice 1-9 (0-6) @ LA Tech 6-3 (4-1) - Rice might be even worse than WKU and have to face a LaTech team who expected better things in Starkville. Back in Rustin will help but this is a below average bunch of Bulldogs who have just one convincing win outside of an FCS team.

Florida Int'l 6-3 (4-1) @ UTSA 3-6 (2-3) - UTSA has 3 wins, not sure how, another program with offensives woes. Look for the visiting Golden Panthers to rebound.

S. Mississippi 4-4 (3-2) @ UAB 8-1 (6-0) - The Blazers have that one blemish, Coastal Carolina, on an otherwise impeccable record. Southern Miss has a good defense and did I mention they have a good defense? Look for UAB to protect the home turf.
