RE: Next Poll Ranking?
I'd obviously rather beat UCF but I gotta say, as soon as they beat us I'll be a fan of theirs the rest of the way out

Say, hypothetically, UC, USF, and Houston all finish the year ranked (Houston likely will, UC and USF are complete toss ups but let's pretend anyways). UCF could then finish the year with 3 ranked wins, one of which over a top 15 team in UH. Last year's Alabama team snuck into the playoff with only 2 ranked wins and, frankly, a pretty average schedule (relative to most years in the SEC). How much weight do ranked wins hold vs. the totality of a schedule?
If UCF makes the playoff, it will be because the committee is saying that UC, USF, and Houston are just as good as top P5 opponents. I hate to say it, but that would probably be better for us than if UC actually beats UCF.
This is the second time I've seen someone suggest this. Winning is good for UC. Period.
Yeah I know. I hated myself for putting that in writing.
Anyways, if it looks like UCF won't make the playoff either way, then it's a moot point.

We were ranked as high as #20, which was incredibly generous at the time.
LOL. Seriously. Neither us nor USF looked like top 25 teams and still got pretty high. Give the conference thing a rest.
Ask UCF.

No one mentioned UCF in that post nor does their ranking influence our own. The bias at the top is rampant. That much is true. But when it comes to 15 through 25 they could care less. Houston went from 0 votes to 17 in a matter of 3 weeks.

It'd be better for the AAC for UCF to beat our beloved Bearcats, but the conference hasn't really done much for us lately, so eff em. Let's win the whole effin thing.

Good pub. Win 2 of the next 3 and we should stay. Hopefully we can parlay it into results on the recruiting trail.

Exactly - tells a good narrative, "year two, we started making our way back in the top 25...but this is just the beginning for CLF and co. have in store for the Bearcats. Come to Cin City 2020!"

RE: Next Poll Ranking?
I continue to believe that UC getting ranked shows the respect people have for the program we built from 2006-2013. There are plenty of reasons not to rank us, but we find ourselves in the polls again. That Navy performance was impressive. Huge one coming Saturday night.

10 think we are a Top 20 team. (one as high as #12)
23 more put us #21-25
27 have us unranked.

The guy who put us #12 this week, had us #21 the week before, and NR the week before that. Really? While I appreciate the love, that's just a little crazy. IMO.

RE: Next Poll Ranking?
The weather is supposed to be cold on Saturday night, but I would prefer that the weather be at least good enough that we have a good home crowd for this important game. It doesn't look good for us to be ranked in the top 25 and have a half-empty (or more) stadium.
