Looks like they will fall short of another bowl game. Highly doubt they beat Wiscy next week

This is why I wonder why people think that Fleck staying here would instantly translate into a sustained winning program. I don't think it's a given. He took over a program that won 9 games and beat Washington State in a bowl and has gone 4-13 in B1G games the next two years. That is hardly #elite.

Why are we still talking about this? What he is doing at Minnesota has nothing to do with what he did here, and what he could have done here. It's a completely different situation in a completely different conference.

He won us our first MAC championship in almost 30 years. It's not important what he would have done if he stayed. He didn't. Let's focus on our current group. As painful as that is.

Wait, did I break a rule here?

Also, weren't you were weighing in on this subject not too long ago?

From you last week:

Quote:Seems pretty much like he is on track.

Some of the fan base can't stand him, some love him. Always talking about how young they are, but you can see the improvement starting to happen despite the results not being the best all the time.

His issue is going to be that he is recruiting against guys that are recruiting better than he is. So all the motivation in the world may not make up for the talent disparity.

I have no doubt by next year they are going to be a physical, determined, football team that is going to force most teams week in and week out to play well to beat them.

I actually have an interest in what he does in Minnesota. He was a dynamic force here to be sure. And I am a sports fan as well as a businessman so I have more than a passing interest in leadership. How he succeeds in or not interests me on many levels. I don't understand the problem. If you're not interested don't click on the thread. And save the lecture.

Fleck has like 52 first year and redshirt freshmen playing. He might get the last laugh..........as he did in Kalamazoo.

We're essentially the same though. I saw somewhere that we have one of the highest percentages of underclassmen on our roster in the nation.

Yep, during the BSU-ND game, they flashed a graphic showing the 7 FBS schools with the fewest seniors on the roster. WMU and BSU were on it.

They are correct.

1. Illinois (8 seniors)
2. Ball State (9)
3. Memphis (9)
4. SMU (9)
5. Arizona (10)
6. WKU (10)
7. WMU (10)

You can measure youngest or oldest a number of ways. To me, the starters count, along with the others who are getting significant playing time. If you ain't playing then whether you are a senior or a freshman doesn't matter much.

True, I agree. Minnesota did play a lot of the old Kill/Claey guys this year. They're not that young like they appear on paper. Illinois beat them with their relatively young squad.
