New Rankings after Ohio
Per Sagarin rankings WMU is now #99 among FBS schools. And would be ranked #7 in FCS.

Be that as it may - we have won the games we were supposed to win.

Won the Cannon-Michigan MAC Trophy.

Yes our losses have been bad especially last two at home.

Still have a chance to salvage the season including going to a bowl game.

FWIW.

Ah I see the low expectations are back. Back to only expected to win against bottom half of MAC, never mind we were 5.5 pt favorites at home vs Toledo..

I feel like as a team with a new coach... we look similar to PJ years still... we are in year two of a new staff who need to build with specific skill sets that fit what they are doing.

This is what sucks about bringing in an entire new staff. Why we didn’t make it a priority to keep some continuity by hiring a PJ staff mate is beyond me... but it is what it is. When you go full on new staff you are going to take this rebuild time... and the best talented guys might not fit well.

Maybe there are examples I'm not thinking of but I only recall looking this inept and unprepared in Nicholls and Iowa games under the last regime. Even Ga So. wasn't nearly this bad. And those two games were early in Year 1 (Year Zero in PJ spin-talk lol). I recall most MAC games at least being semi-competitive till halftime or so.

And Fleck/staff I feel were much more in rebuild mode playing freshmen and fitting their system into a wrong shaped hole.

Of course we aren't going 1-11 either, but these last two were so, so bad.

If we make a bowl game, will we play a sun belt school? Like Troy or app. State??

Sure seems that way.

Before the Toledo debacle, I'm pretty sure we were still expected to beat Ohio also.

FWIW, CFN has us going to the Quick Lane Bowl v. Pitt. Obviously, just a projection...
